AKV Jambo Value available every night!

A strange thing happened a few hours ago.

I was searching for a room and Jambo House Value Studios showed available for every single night of the year!

I booked a few nights and received the email confirming my reservation.

Any opinions on what happened?

A system glitch?

Disney cancelling a block of reservations made by a mega renter?

Something else?
 
I’m reading this 12 hours later and that’s not the case now. My guess is it wasn’t the case one hour later either. Congrats to those who could grab one.
it was gone almost immediately. It took me about a minute to select my dates and confirm the reservation.

When I tried again, nearly all dates were gone. (I saw 3 single dates available.)

I can think of only 3 reasons why this might have happened.
  1. Computer glitch - These have been happening from time-to-time in other areas of the Disney websites. But to have an entire category of the second-most-difficult room to book magically appear available for every day of the year seems like more than just a glitch.
  2. Reservation cancellations - Disney talked about cracking down on renters, and the Jambo Value Studio is the room category that is most rented. Maybe Disney cancelled all of these for one of the commercial renters. But then I can't imagine the rest of us booking every single night for the entire year in only a minute.
  3. New room added to Value category - Might Disney have added a new Value room? (For example, a Value room had been taken out of inventory for an extended renovation and then been returned to available.) But again, every single night disappeared in a minute.
It looks to me like there's a bot grabbing Value Studios, so I suppose the rooms could have all quickly disappeared because of a bot.

Interesting - any time I read of inventory suddenly & inexplicably appearing I think of the phantom VGC availability debacle that happened twice where the system allowed folks to book even though there wasn’t any availability.
In the case of AKV inventory, I assume they’ve been fiddling w/ inventory due to the refurb. removing/returning villas depending on the progress of the work, so maybe someone was adjusting the inventory & goofed?
Or maybe DVC had reserved value villas w/ their owned/controlled AKV inventory & decided to release it. We don’t really know how DVC decides which villas to reserve w/ their owned/controlled points, but the value category has so few villas that we’d be more likely to notice moves like that v. more numerous view categories.
Finally, many years ago I recall AKV inventory suddenly appearing - when that happened it seemed that the system just hadn’t loaded all of the inventory for booking initially & the error wasn’t corrected for a while 🤷‍♀️.
