AKV Jambo Standard View?

On a map I found, I saw that the AKV Jambo standard views are all surrounding Jambo's pool. Is this true? We don't want to be all the way down the long hallways so we would prefer standard view if we will be close to the lobby/ pool.

That was true when AKV at Jambo opened but is no longer true and has not been for about 7 years. The original standard views at AKV were all rooms overlooking the pool area. In 2012, DVC reclassified a number of savanna view rooms to standard view, which effectively more than doubled the number of standard view rooms and placed such rooms throughout the resort, see http://i.imgur.com/G2qaSva.png. Thus, there are now many standard view rooms that actually have savanna view, but were made standard view under the brief that the savanna views were not as good as others. In fact, most of those converted rooms have decent savanna views. Thus, if you want pool view or be close to the lobby, you should request one of those. However, if what you would like is to potentially get a room with savanna view, then a probable request to make is for a standard view room on the Kudo Trail side of the building (the left side of the U-shaped building), where all standards were previously savanna view rooms.

Wow, that map makes it look like there are more standard than Savannah view! I did not know there are that many standard view rooms.

Savanna views still outnumber standard, mainly because all rooms overlooking the Arusha savanna (center of the building) are still savanna view. There are now 24 2BR lock-offs and 14 dedicated studios that are standard view (originally there were just 10 and 3), while there are 33 2BR lock-offs and 24 dedicated studios that are savanna view.

I stayed in 5210 in February. It's a standard view studio with a partial savanna view and very close to the lobby. It was a great location.
