We are trying to figure out which hotel we want to stay in, we were considering AKV because our little ones LOVE animals. However, I just occurred to me that since it is December there may not be that many animals out. Does anyone know about how many animals are out and about around the first week in December?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, all of the animals will be out. The lodge is decorated beautifully for the holidays. We stayed at Kidani January '13 and Jambo house Dec '11, and the animals were plentiful.

As the other poster stated, all animals are out in their savanas all the time with the exception of early morning. They wrangle them up in the early am (usually until around 9 -ish) for a quick check, then back out they go. They even sleep on the savanas.

This is my home resort and many of the animal handlers have confirmed this is the norm for the animals.

Dec is a great time to visit WDW. Have fun.

The animals will all be out and the decorations at the lodge are gorgeous.
