hubby is going on a golf trip in orlando starting may 17th....saw that southwest had some good airfare in may....so i just booked a 3 night stay in a studio at AKV-Jumbo house savana view..may 14-17..soooo excited that i don't have to wait until our already planned September trip for dd 21st birthday to get back to WDW

please help...totally clueless about AKV since we usually stay at BWV...any tips etc would be appreciated...are there any room requests I should make...any and all advice is appreciated :)

Hey, you lucked out both ways, good airfare, and a great place to stay. Enjoy. I especially like the placement of the whirlpools at the pool. There's one that's in a bamboo grove, very secluded. My DSis enjoys the sauna that's in the health club. Kidani doesn't have one.

thanks for the info:goodvibes.....i was lucky...just started thinking that hubby's airfare was already booked with the golf trip..just had to move it forward a few days....got to love southwest's no change fees policy....called today to see if anything was available....he did have me waitlist BLT....but either way I'm looking forward to an unexpected trip and another excuse to use our annual passes :thumbsup2

also realized i had a typo and the title should say AKL....:confused3 but i don't see how i can fix that

You could check on availability of the Wanyama Safari, which is only available for Animal Kingdom Lodge guests. The safari includes a ride through the savannas at the hotel and then a fantastic dinner at Jiko.

Every night between 9:00 and 9:30 they have night vision binoculars to view the savanna from the viewing area near the pool.

The walk to the elevators can be loooooooooooong. Request to be close if that matters to you. Enjoy!:thumbsup2

Thanks .....We normally stay at BWV....and don't mind the walk there.....are the hallways longer that BWV ??

Check their Daily Activities Board (by Bell Services Desk), they have many different activities through the day. Some are geared for kids, but there are some adult activities. I especially have enjoyed the Lobby Tour (discusses the various artwork, etc.), and the Culinary Tour (includes a tour through Jikos and Bomas..with samples).
I second the night vision goggles, very fun AND the CM'S are usually delightful to talk to.
