AKV...DVC got this one right

I have already talked to my guide. Told her to put me on the list. I want to be one of the first to buy. We stayed once at Christmas and loved the hotel. She said she has no info about points, price or dates but as soon as she does she'll let me know.

I wanted CRV. My DH wanted AKV. We were planning to buy small 75 point add-ons at both so we can stay at each resort every other year.

I will buy at AKL as a definate. I may or may not sell my BWV contract.

I have to say I was seriously looking into Marriott resale. But, Now will buy AKL DVC instead.

I love the idea of AKV. It’s a beautiful resort. I’m interested in an add on.
However, for me the deciding factor to add on will depend on the price, number of points required for a stay and whether I can guarantee a room within the Main Lodge at the time of booking.

I would rather see a DL DVC than another WDW.
We already have 5, and SSR is still building.
Of course I like the option and hopefully getting ressies will be easier but I think it's better to have a DL dvc resort.
Then again that's just me

We're happy to have another option to stay at, but we are BCV people. We'll definitely stay there though, but won't be adding on.

Count me in for an add on. I recently downsized my point allotment and now this!!!!!! Looks like I'll be adding on and probably end up with more than I started with.

The AKV will really need that pool area to be grand for it to be a winner. The existing pool at AKL is so drab and not up to par with some of the other deluxe resorts. Crowding all the DVC people in there would be too much. Although they did just this with VWL.

I'm hoping they have learned a little along the way. I'm thrilled with this choice by DVC. Now if they add one in Hawaii I'll be all set.

Anyone know when I can add on?

I am really happy about AKV. I am so glad that DVC gave us another option for our vacations. AKL was the only resort outside DVC I really wanted to try. That being said, I don't think I will add on any points there. For one, I think it will be too exspensive for me. I do plan on adding two 25 point add-ons in the near future. I will probably buy (cash) more SSR for less $$.(more points ,more years, less $$) Given AKV size, I will take my chances at the 7 month window as I don't believe it will be that difficult to get. I like to jump around and stay at a different resort every time. If I can get into AKV it will be great, If I can't...well, I like all the DVC resorts and I am happy at any of them.

Oh, I always go in April. A lot of the time it is during Easter week. I have been lucky and have gotten just what I wanted right at the 7 month window. However, I do call day by day. I know this may change,but I am okay with using the waitlist if I need to. I also love SSR so to me it is always a win/win situation. LOVE MY DVC!!!!
