AKV DISboard Ownership Chart

Hey Guys & Gals!

For those who are interested.....

If you will post your Use Year, # of points and AKV Unit # I make a chart of who, how much and where. We can calculat percentage ownership and # of points assigned to a unit, and how many ar DISboard 'owned'

New owner here, what does the unit# signify?:confused3

Orange County has responded to tiggerrr's request by posting the latest documents today. Six new units were declared (Units 1-6) on Oct 11th -- the first units in the Kudu trail.

Thank you very much. I'll add the new units to my overall point tracking and I can recalculate the ownership %.

The unit # will be the actual unit that DVC sold you a % interest in. Your documentation will use the language "An undivided [#]% interest in Unit [#] of Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas." This is the actual property you own. What makes up a unit varies from resort to resort. At some resorts, it is a whole building. At AKV, as you can see from LisaS's posting above it is a collection of a couple of rooms.

In practical terms, it's pretty much meaningless to you. It has nothing to do with where you will stay. Member Services won't have any idea where you actually "own" from a unit perspective. In fact, if it wasn't for LisaS and her posts, I wouldn't have any idea where our unit even was on property. (As it turns out, I have a stake in the same unit she does).

Based on the new units declared, AKV now has declared 1,252,000 points in the 31 studios, 59 2Br lockoffs and 4 grand villas. This means that the DISers who have posted on this thread own 2.3% of the declared points. I'll be updating post 317 with the new numbers, but I thought I'd post this on its own for those of you subscribing.

I also clearly have too much time on my hands, because I decided to see how many points in total Jambo House is going to be worth. It looks like Kudu Trail is going to be a mirror image of Zebra. Based on that I have assumed that the remaining undeclared rooms are the same as the other wing. This means that Jambo House will have 1,820,000 points for all rooms for a year. If Disney keeps back 2% for their own inventory and sells the rest at $96, Jambo House sales will be worth $171,225,600. (Of which, I was happy to contribute my $19,200)

MJGirl - Feb Use Year - 220 points - Unit 37

Finally bought into DVC after wanting to for years. Chose the right time to buy as the Cdn dollar is so good.

How do I become Canadian??j/k:cool1:

:rotfl2: Last time the dollar was this good was in the 70s. I think I actually made money on the wire transfer this time! When I first thought about DVC, I think $1 US cost about $1.40 Cdn., so I passed!

Side question ... I just completed the paperwork, and when I checked the link to find my unit, it said my deed was unconfirmed? Is there something else I'm supposed to do?

Along with some of the others here, I too have been wondering what the availability of certain rooms will be at AKV.

With all of the different categories as well as the different types of views, it gets a bit confusing.
So, using the information contained in this thread (mostly the great diagrams and descriptions provided by LisaS) and info from some other threads, I constructed the table below to try and keep it straight.

Hopefully this will be of some use to those who, like me, are wondering what their chances might be of booking a specific type of room.:goodvibes

If I've got something wrong here let me know and I'll revise the table. Also, it only applies to Jambo House.

Don't know my unit (SSR) yet....closing next month. Oct. UY and 225 points!
Congratulations on your SSR purchase! This thread is tracking points purchased at AKV. We're tracking how fast AKV is selling, and the percentage of AKV that is owned by DISboard members.

Great job!!! I agree it is very confusing with so many booking categories at Jambo House in particular. Your chart will be a big help!
