Disney has declared the following new Units on 07/06/07. The documents appeared today on the Orange County website. I have updated the list of AKV Units and the Unit drawing.

Given the declarations, it seems they are WELL ahead of schedule. The "map" showed many of those unit opening in Sept...

Yes it is all of the Zebra trail except for one little piece near the lobby. I'm not sure what we can conclude about the schedule though because they usually declare the Units months before they are ready for occupancy. For example, the Unit I purchased was declared in February but scheduled to open almost 7 months later in September. And based on Linda Mac's blog, they are still working in the Zebra trail not far from her room in the July section, so construction there is ongoing. Given the reports of brisk sales and an accelerated schedule, I was expecting them to declare some Units in the Value and Concierge area of AKV this time around but they stopped short of doing that.

My own take on the schedule changes is that they did two things. First, I think they wanted the lobby area work done before the holidays so they swapped that part of the project (concierge and value villas) with the Kudu trail work that was originally scheduled for that time period. Second, I'm not expecting that the Kudu trail will be done in December. I think it will take until sometime in the spring of 2008. I think they are just getting the demolition work out of the way as soon as possible to minimize the noise and disruption to AKL visitors. Once the concierge and value villas are done, they can move on to the construction, painting and furnishing of the Kudu trail villas. But again, this is all speculation on my part.

Did you see anything unusual in the floor plans?

I'm still waiting to see what is going to happen the the VP suite. Will DVD own it, keep it as it is, but allow only CRO to rent it out, keeping the income (or not)? or will it be turned into villas? or a common room and a villa?

One of the studios appears to be a HA studio. It has a shower rather than a tub. That was the only thing I noticed.

I'm curious about that too. I have no idea how popular those suites are, so it's hard to even make a good guess what they might do with them.

At least now they have filled up all of the Zebra trail except for that suite (and maybe a room or two next to it? not really sure), so the next batch of documents will be interesting. I'm hoping we will finally see some concierge and value units next time. I'm anxious to find out exactly how many Value villas will face the parking lot.
 
So how much do DISers own?

2.1% of what's declared and 4.3% of units being sold. A number of caveats and explanations follow if you're interested.

First, I took the ownership points from post 185 (15,225 points) and have not added for any posts after that. I used Post 222 to determine how many units have been declared (20 St, 31 2Br, 3GV) and post 185 to determine what units are currently being sold (23, 25, 27, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 35, 36, 45). There may be more units than that being sold, but that's what I used.

To determine the total points available, I added up the yearly total of points for each type of unit. I assumed none of the declared units were value or concierge. Nearly all the units are Savanah views, only 4 of the 20 studios and 8 of the 31 2Br are standard views.

Then, it's just multiplication. A standard studio is 5250 pts, a savanah studio is 6374 pts, a standard 2br is 13413 pts, a savanah 2br is 17081 pts and a GV is 33498. This is based on the 2007 points chart. For the 2br, I used the actual 2br points, since the total pts for a 1br & studio that make it up is less than a 2br. Total declared points is 723,645 and those units being sold are 350,037.

I'll keep watching this thread to see what is updated.
 
I just realized..our unit (23) has been declared (and was awhile ago, I guess)! And I own part of a GV!!

Here is the wierd thing... Got a call in July from my guide, saying that these points had just become avaliable. I was able to get 2007 points that I banked into 2008. Feb 07 points had already sold out, and then these became avaliable. She said they sold out in 3 days.
