I got a letter from DVC yesterday saying that "Changes in the resort's construction schedule will make Concierge and Value Vacation Homes available beginning on December 1." Does that mean that construction is running ahead of schedule at Jambo?

Yeah, I am curious about that too. Perhaps it means that they changed things around and are working on the concierge portion before they move on to the Kudu trail?

We were there last month and construction was busy, busy, busy. They are working 7 days a week, 7AM - 5PM. DVD wants to get them done ASAP while the iron is hot. A Guide told us that AKL has had the most successful start of all of the DVC proprieties. :thumbsup2

I'm hoping this means that Kidani will also be done ahead of schedule.:thumbsup2

BTW, did the guide explain what "the most successful start............." means, compared to the others that have been built? :confused3

I think the Guide was referring to initial and current demand. In February when sales first started several Guides made their months quota in the first week.

Wow! That IS a lot of activity!:thumbsup2

(BTW, if and when, CRV comes along, I wouldn't be surprised if the guides make their month's quota in 24 hours!:lmao:)

We've already had at least one report that DVC was unable to sell a certain use month at AKL because they "were out of points" - so they have to wait for more units to be finished and declared into the condominium.

Given that, I'm not at all surprised to hear that AKV is selling well or that they are working as hard and as fast as they can to get more units ready for occupancy.

I, at first, thought construction was ahead of schedule.

But reports back at AKL peg Kudo trail as the only "full" 5th floor area open to lodge guests.

So, now I'm thinking they simply flip flopped the 6th floor/lobby area/ostrich/giraffe trails conversion with Kudo Trail...which will now be done last.

But I've not heard that "officially"...just surmising from the reports from guests "on the ground".
