Where do the animals go when theyre not on the Savannah?
They have their sleeping area, you can actually see it from some of the rooms
*Complaint about the food at the Mara not being good. This was more of them listening and thanking the person for their feedback and assuring them that they will take that into consideration.
*Question about what will happen to the furniture after refurb and if we can buy it. They would not answer this and said that they didnt have any information yet. I found out its at the cast member store for cast members to purchase, called Cast Connection.
*Lots of money is going to reserves for future use, What happens to the leftover money once our contract ends? They talked about how everything has an estimate of how many years it will last ie the roofs, and that if something is due to be replaced a year before estimated expiration or close they will not use the money for a major refurbishment . Expenses will be calculated at the end and accounting of how much is left and then the money could possibly be distributed to owners. The answer they provided did not promise us anything.
*Concerns about the preservation of the authenticity of akv decor and the refurbishment being too modernized They were all smiles for this one. They told us that they are aware that the Animal Kingdom is a very special and unique place for owners and they were careful with this refurb regarding not stripping away the authenticity. They told us that they believe we will be very happy with the refurbishment. Murphy beds were confirmed and they said they are doing them everywhere possible but cant in places like OKW.
*Someone actually asked them to charge people for housekeeping for short stays like Hilton does because he thinks this would make the dues go down. This is another one that they were listening and didnt have much of a reaction too except thank you for your feedback
*AKV Kidani refurbished villa will be ready to view on Friday
I am going to ask to see the rooms on Friday and will update if they let me. They said to just ask at the hotel, no guarantees.
*Will there be more club level rooms Two people mentioned these rooms. One how she went once and loved it and has never been able to go again and would pay more points to be able to go because the cast members were amazing and experience top notch. The other has never got to experience at all and that was very disappointing to her. These questions were also ones that I felt were blown off with a thank you and theyre not going to really do anything about.
*Walking concerns This came up with the club level questions. They are of course extremely aware its an issue. They said owners having to call daily was a big incvenience for owners and thats why they changed it and now we have this problem. They are actively looking for ways to deal with the issue. They are looking into technology to stop it and how to best address it. They gave me hope that something will be rolled out to control it.
*Will more Jambo rooms be converted to DVC No plans for this
*Is there any possibility of future transportation besides buses No plans for this
Hope you got something out of this. I felt an excitement from the board that I didnt feel at BLT meeting and it seems like they like and cherish Animal Kingdom a lot.
There was someone on the panel named Cosmo? At this meeting, sorry I dont know who he is to Animal kingdom but he seems to be passionate and probably oversees animal kingdom because he wasn't in the blt meeting and members remembered him from last year.
Cosmos told the man who wanted to come at all times that he hoped they let him in when it wasnt holiday time and that shouldnt be an issue but the man said it was and he got denied in May. The board seemed to think that he should have been let in at that time and was taking notes.
