AKV Concierge Dec 22-28, 2007 1 Bedroom...Lost in Translation

Having been in the club level prior to dvc at AKL I just wanted to know what trail was the room on ??

I have a 2 bdr club level for april 18- 27 of 2008.

I am having a hard time understanding this as i know what rooms were turned into dvc rooms

The savanna view concierge rooms are in the lobby area, in between the Kudu trail and the Ostrich trail. The pool view concierge rooms are also in the lobby area, in between the Zebra trail and the Giraffe trail. I've marked the location of the concierge villas in pink on this map: (Pink: Concierge, Lime green: Value villas, Yellow: Standard View villas, Orange: Grand Villas):

The rooms on the 6th floor along the length of the lobby area were converted to AKV concierge. The savannah is the Sunset Savannah.

I guess my confusion is from the construction I saw going on in June of last year I did not see the construction in that area do you have a room number??

And Lisa Have you actualy seen the rooms other then in pictures.

You must have been on the 5th floor rather than the 6th floor. The Zebra trail is only 5 stories high. The lobby area is the only part of AKL that has a 6th floor. It's not easy to read the room numbers on this map. There is a PDF version of this map here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/DAKLMap.pdf

I have not stayed on the 6th floor yet. I'm not surprised you did not see any construction in the lobby area in June. They were converting the Zebra trail at that time. The work in the lobby area probably didn't start until August or September.

My unit was 6202 on the 6th floor, Kudu Trail. There are now only 10 units on the 6th floor, all DVC Concierge. The sign next to our unit read Kudu Trail. We were closest to the stairs.

My room was 6209. It was above and to the right of the bridge over the lobby. We were at the other end of the hall from LIFERBABE on the same side just about over the public Sunset Savannah overlook off the lobby just past check-in.

The pictures on my DD's camera are not as good as those on my DH's laptop. But this should give you an idea:

In June they were converting the top (5th) floor of the Zebra Trail. That was completed in September. Then they moved on to the 5th and 6th floors of the lobby area and the top (5th) floors of the Ostrich and Giraffe trails. That section opened on Dec 1st. Then they moved on to phase 3: the top (5th) floor of the Kudu trail which is due to be completed Jan 29th.

I was wrong on the floor it was the fifth floor with a savana view..But A club level room which was nexted to the Suites..

The only Jambo House rooms I've seen were in a wing of the building under construction where everything was totally gutted! I toured the Kidani model rooms and I've seen lots of photos of the Jambo House rooms in trip reports. My first trip to Jambo House is still several months away unfortunately.

I was there for the opening of akl and the one year later.

This was well before they had visions of dvc there..

This is my favorite Resort on property and I too can not wait till i get there in April.

I will have pictures of everything and a detail trip report to include food beer wine soft drinks

Lisa is was just a question is all please do not take it the wrong way.

This is my favorite Resort on property and I too can not wait till i get there in April.

It's one of my favorites too! It was the first WDW resort DH and I stayed in and we loved it so much we went back several times until we joined DVC. So we're excited to be going back. I look forward to reading your report. I hope you have a wonderful stay!

I can't wait to see pictures. What type of offerings were offered in the evening? Did they have anything kid friendly other than BP&J (cheese or veggies)?

Since the concierge rooms are right off the lobby...is there a lot of noise?

DH and I always request rooms away from elevators, etc. to cut down on the noise. I'm disappointed that these are not tucked in a hallway.
