AKV concierge? Anyone know?

You can see the cameras on the top of the Lodge but you can't view what they are filming.

BUT you CAN see into the rooms at night if you're out on Arusha rock. It's amazing how many people disregard the notice in the room and think that thin little curtain will keep people from being able to see them in their room.

LOL, that was my thought too! It's a great time to try and do them too, because it will be just DH and me on that trip.

It's very very cool. We had a private tour with two keepers in Dec 2003 and loved it. (Long story, but it was Disney magic at its finest that got us on the savanna.) The animals all have personalities and the keepers tell you about each one as you meet them.

I remember a story from the first time we took the Sunrise Safari. It was about the giraffes in general being easily "spooked" by small things. On the entrance gate to the night area for the giraffes, a small bolt was replaced. One of the female giraffes saw it, noticed it wasn't the same size as the old bolt and would not enter. Apparently they pay attention to small details. I guess it took alot of coaxing and offers of treats to get her inside for the night. I have yet to book a concierge room with my AKLV points ( hoping for Memorial day weekend and beyond) but would jump on the chance to do this safari again. I agree with others who've said that it would be worth not having the savannah view, esp. since we'll all be back again!---Kathy

I'm glad others think I'm not crazy to give up a guaranteed Savanna view just to do these two safari's. Heck, the savings on the sunset one alone are worth it!

What's a Value accommodation? I see it's different from Standard view. Out of curiosity what does that mean? Has it not got any windows or something?

Not that I care, I'd book it anyway.

What is the deal with the discount on the Sunset safari? That was REALLY cool and the Jiko dinner was fantastic.

The value rooms are smaller and can be any view.
