We are the DVC family who, according to DVC, has been assigned to handicap accessible rooms more than any other member. In fact it has occurred so many times that DVC has refunded all of our points for two of our stays. During one of those stays our then six year old fell on the floor of the bathroom with the roll in shower and cracked his head badly.
DVC has instructed me to put on our reservations each time the notation that we do NOT want the handicap accessible room. I suggest you do the same.

I would request a pool view and a tub!!
I still want want my points backs for the 10 nights I spent on CL in the 1 bedroom without a tub.
With the lounge you really dont need the kitchen as much, you get daily housekeeping so no need to laundry as much, you dont have an ensuite master bath at Jambo, so to pay all those points for a 1bedroom and not get a soaking tub, I was not a happy camper.
There are only 5 units, so the chances of moving are slim to none and Slim left town!![]()
If you are worried about getting a handicapped accessible CL room, request pool view, and you will be assured of not getting a HA room.
I was told your not allowed to request views CL at ALK.
so not sure that would help.
Besides, what the big deal? So it's HA? Does that really change the room that much?
Reading the thread I guess there is.
So no tub in HA room?
Not sure what I would prefer? Savanah view with HA and no tub
or Tub and Pool view?

I can soak in the tub and drink a glass a wine from the lounge and forget I dont have a savannah view!
I hadn't thought about that. For people who don't plan to use the whirlpool tub and have issues climbing over the high sides of that tub to use the shower, the roll-in shower would be easier.I stayed there 2 years ago. It was a milestone birthday for my friend and she really wanted savannah view. We got pool view (1 bedroom). She was really disappointed, the next morning she went to the CL desk and asked if any savannah views were available that day. The cm checked and we got moved to the HA savannah view (first room). We didn't think the roll-in shower was that bad. Since the regular room has a tub/shower combo, I thought it was hard to get into, it was high.

We use the whirlpool nearly every night of our stay. It's one of the main reasons we book a 1BR instead of a studio. A long soak in the jacuzzi feels so good after a day in the parks! If I paid for a 1BR and did not get a tub I would be very disappointed. It would definitely affect the quality of our vacation.
I'm right with you on that one! We had the dreaded corner studio at CL last time, and while it was savanna view, it was so tucked into the corner, we couldn't see anything other than road.
On the other hand...Our 1 bedroom pool view room was wonderful! We could even see some savanna animals in the distance.

And it does have a standard studio tub.

thanks again! Thanks for all the suggestions, should I ask for a pool view? Or ask for a tub? I know it's just a request and it's can't be guaranteed but what's my best chance? I am not concerned with my view. By the way does anyone have any pictures of the cl rooms? Are they the same as other jambo house rooms? I have only stayed in kidani. I am staying in jambo house in 13 days, it will be my first time staying there I have a sv studio I am wondering how it will compare to kidani.
thanks again!
Just out of curiousity, what is so special about Club/Concierge level at AKV? Hoping to stay at AKV & BLT for a birthday trip in 2012, and wondering if its worth asking for (though doubtful the room would be available at 7 month mark from the look of it) in a 2 bedroom ... mostly we just want to do a few nights with a Savannah view since we haven't been to Florida since AK was built.
