Akv club level I have a question

Just out of curiousity, what is so special about Club/Concierge level at AKV? Hoping to stay at AKV & BLT for a birthday trip in 2012, and wondering if its worth asking for (though doubtful the room would be available at 7 month mark from the look of it) in a 2 bedroom ... mostly we just want to do a few nights with a Savannah view since we haven't been to Florida since AK was built.

We've stayed AKL Concierge once and booked the Sunrise Safari. We really enjoyed that and it was the main reason we booked Concierge. We also enjoyed the daily repast in the lounge. Some nice snacks and beverages.

Thanks Deb. I'll see if I can check out that Sunrise Safari to see if that's something we might want to think about doing while there so I know if it would be worth our while to try. To rent or trade to get into concierge. Exactly the info I was looking for!

We were in an accessible 1bed CL in October. Would be a hard decision whether to swap it for a non-savanna view room, but on balance I probably spend more time on the balcony than in the tub. The SV from the club level rooms isn't the best, but it's not terrible either and it definitely makes for some lovely sunsets.

Are there roll in shower studios at all?
I think there is only one studio with a roll-in shower in all of Jambo House. It is a Standard View, facing the pool area. I don't know what might be available in Kidani.

Here is a list of the HA rooms in Jambo House. This list was generated from the floor plans filed with Orange County. Some of these have been verified by people who have stayed in these rooms.

WOW! That is VERY limited for the roll in shower studio availability. Thanks for the information.

We stayed club level for 8 nights in May. It was one of our best vacations. In addition to the wonderful lounge, you have access to the Sunrise Safari with an awesome breakfast afterward. This is not the standard Kilimanjaro safari. It was leisurely, with plenty of stops for pictures and a very knowledgeable guide in addition to the driver. The lounge has continental breakfast in the morning, snacks all day, appetizers and beer and wine in the evening, dessert and cordials after dinner.

You also get daily maid and turndown service. And a really cool gold KTTW card :)

I'd do it again in a heartbeat. An excellent value. And the room seemed to be bigger (studio with extra length) with the double sinks of Jambo.

Wow... it is amazing how much you learn from reading these boards. I just assumed all Conceirge rooms had Savannah rooms. Silly me. I was planning on booking to have a savannah room and book the Sunrise Safari. Now, I'm not sure since, I can only book at 7 months out. Are the points really worth it for pool view and conceirge level?

The Sunrise Safari was the highlight of our stay. It lasts about an hour and is followed by a great breakfast buffet.

I think the view is what prevented the highest point requirement in DVC. As it stands, CL is usually 2-3 points per night more than savannah view.

Seven months out is going to be tough. Most of the time those villas are gone at 11 months out. But sometimes they get rereleased if someone cancels the reservation.

And the Sunrise Safari is only offered twice a week (at least that's what I remember).

I didn't realize that HA rooms were only on the savanna view side of the CL. We are booked in a 1 bedroom CL room for Christmas. We have only used the tub to soak our feet once and my mother has difficulties stepping over the edge of the tub to get into the shower. On the other hand, both of us are medium-tall women who like high countertops. I can't remember if I requested a savanna view when I made the reservations 11 months in advance so I will just call MS to put in the request and then hope upon check-in that we receive a comfortable savanna view room.

I know it is a long shot but I've gotten rooms when others said it was impossible so, I'm still going to try for it. You never know until you try. I got VWL at Christmas at 7 months and everyone said that was impossible.

Yes, the Safari is only 2 days. One of the days is Sunday which is the day we would be there. I can't remember off the top of my head the 2nd day.

It is possible to get CL at 7 months. We did it. We had a studio, Savannah view for 8 nights in May. We got the 6 middle nights at 7 months from check in (and we didn't walk the reservation). The first and last nights were waitlisted but we ended up getting them within about 2 months from booking. Never say never.

Good to know. I booked at 7 months out for April 2011 at AKL and am waitlisted for the first 2 nights at AKL villas studio club level, and have the last two nights at AKL club level studio. I guess there is hope that our waitlist will come thru. I already booked Sunrise Safari for my last day.

There is a "Deluxe Studio AKL CL" available for booking through "CRO" from Dec 24th through to the 30th,,So yes they do appear
