AKV at 7 months?

I know this question gets asked a gazillion times...chances of getting a 2-bedroom or 2 studios at the 7-month mark? Looking at either the second full week of March or May as soon as school is out. No particular year in mind...just more hypothetical if another family were to join us. We own at Poly, so I know I can get 2 studios at 11 months. But a 2-bedroom bungalow is not an option so we're considering a 2-bedroom elsewhere. Thought a savannah view might be fun for kiddos. Also, where are your favorite 2-bedroom villas at WDW?

I have to preface this with a false sense of hope because we were able to get a 2-bedroom at Grand Californian at the 7-month mark. Evidently it's not that easy. We had to waitlist the last night, but it came through in about 3 days.

Chances are pretty good, but you are looking more likely at Kidani, not Jambo, and should budget for Savannah.

AKV is a large resort. The chances of getting what you want at the 7 month mark are just that, chances. Now having said that, I only book 1-bedroom rooms so I don't know what the chances are of a 2-bedroom. Understand that the 2-bedroom units are affected by studio bookings if they are lockoff 2-bedrooms. The dedicated 2-bedrooms don't have that issue. Using the RAT should give you an idea of what next March is by now as it's 11 months out. You can then follow it all the way down to your 7th month.

AKV savanna view 2BRs at Kidani have typically been open at 7 months out in March and May (including Easter weeks and Memorial Day weekend); Jambo's savanna view 2BRs are also usually open but some risk otherwise around holidays. For 2BRs, we have a high preference for a Kidani dedicated 2BR instead of lock-off and instead of the Jambo (which is all lock-offs). The Kidani 2BR is 100 sq ft larger than Jambo, has more closet space, three bathrooms, large master bath with separate tub and shower, and more closet space than Jambo. The dedicated also has two queens in the second bedroom and one long balcony stretching across both bedrooms and the living room (lock-offs have a wall between the studio and 1BR portion).

I have not stayed at VGF or CCV so cannot speak for those. Otherwise, we believe the best 2BRs are the ones at Kidani, Bay Lake Tower and OKW. OKW rooms are the largest available. Both Kidani and BLT are about 100 sq ft larger than the others at WDW (except VGF and OKW) and both have the pull-out twin chair in the living room (also at OKW) and the third bathroom (no others have that).

With a 2 bedroom your chances at 7 months are really good, the studios go first! I’ve never had issues traveling during Spring Break, I book my home resort at the 11 month mark and then change to AKV when the 7 month window opens up.

AK is a pretty big resort and we have always been able to get in at 7 months and sometimes even less than 7 months. Be sure to set up BOTH wait lists asap if there is no availability though ...my favorite resort....have fun!
