Our DVC points are at SSR. I am hoping to book a 1BR at AKV for the first week of June next year and I was wondering if anyone had any idea as to the availability at 7 months at AKV or if I should book at SSR at 11 months. I just wasn't sure how busy they are those first 10 days of June.

Thanks.

Generally speaking, AKK is relatively easy at 7 months unless it's one of the EXTREMELY busy weeks of the year. The first or second week in June shouldn't be that bad. Admittedly, I am staying there June 2-10 and I had to waitlist for it but I only booked it about 5 months ago but it came through for the whole week in like a month.

FWIW.

You should be able easily to get savanna or standard view. Value and concierge are usually gone by 7 months out except that even for those 1BRs are sometimes still open at 7 months (1BRs are usually the last to disappear at all resorts).

Should you first book SSR 11 months out? That is always the safest course but personally I do not think it is necessary unless you want a treehouse because the one certainty I have noticed since the on-line reservations system has started is that all rooms other than treehouses at SSR are always open at 7 months out so you could easily get SSR if need be then. In fact SSR rooms are usually all open well beyond 7 months out (for the Easter weeks, all room categories other than treehouses were still available 2 months out this year; and right now, 7 months out from Christmas week they are wide open for then).

We booked at SSR at the 11 month window then called right at the 7 month window and had no problem getting a 1 bedroom savanah view.

1 bedrooms are usually the easiest to book. You should have no trouble getting one at 7 months at AKV.
