I just got an email from DVC stating that the point price for AKV and Aulani will increase from $145 to $150 on June 19.

I was just coming here to post that. It says:

For a limited time, you can lock in today's price when you
purchase a real estate interest at Disney's Animal Kingdom
Villas or Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina,
Hawai'i. The price per vacation point increases from $145
to $150 on June 19, 2013—so act now to save on a lifetime
of vacation memories!

I just got that email. Boy resales keep looking better and better.

It seems unbelievable to me & DH. I am so glad we did not wait to buy at the GF. We went resale at BLT.

Just got this(can't do a screen shot) from my Guide:

As one of our valued Disney Vacation Club Members, we
wanted you to know that now is a great time to Add On.
Before the price goes up, we invite you to Add On at
Disney's
Animal Kingdom
Villas and Aulani,
Disney Vacation Club
Villas, Ko Olina, Hawai'i for just $145 per vacation point so
you can save on Disney vacations for decades to come.
Price
increases to $150 per vacation point on June 19, 2013
, so
act now and enjoy even more magic.

Yea, there is a part of me that would like to add on but with these prices I would have to be making more money than I am.

And if they raise the sold out resort prices, doesn't that mean the people on the waitlist lose their original "locked in price" because it's only guaranteed through one price raise and this would be the second?

Why all the hoopla for a measly $5 increase ?? This is definitely a marketing gimmic by DVC to get us lemmings...er..ah..excuse me, valued member... thinking about buying more points.

...and it just may work, except if I decide to buy it won't be thru DVC !!!

Is AKL close to sold out or are they increasing pricing to bring new resort pricing closer to GF pricing (unannounced). Will we see increased RORF activity for AKL? Either way, hope they leave the old resorts alone.

I guess because since January 2012 there have been 6 AKV price increases for a total increase of $38 or 34% (from $112 to $150) and the last increase was only 6 weeks ago.

Price increases are a standard sales tactic for timeshare salespeople. That being said, DVD probably realizes that they can't go that much higher on Aulani, so they are trying to get as many price increases in as possible within as small a range as possible. That's my inference, anyway.

The prices are really getting out of reach.... Definitely making resale look like a more reasonable option...

I'm suprised with aulani. It's out of the way for most Disneyworld fans and has high maintenance fees.

I can't believe that they would raise prices again so soon. It has to be so they can get a higher price for the GF. IMHO. Resales have always looked good, and since we only use them for WDW. no big problem there.

I truly dread to think what they are going to bring VGF out at. I'm glad I bought VGC instead.

When I received my e-mail, my first thought was "they're increasing the price again so that people are not floored by the astronomical price of the Grand Floridian." I am expecting $200 per point.
