That is for the value rooms which are smaller than regular dvc rooms. Good luck on getting a room.

no ware on dvc site says that they are smaller rooms
early 2009, the new Kidani Village will bring:

Vacation Homes where most of the rooms offer more spacious floor plans than those found in other Disney Vacation Club Resorts and all one-bedrooms will sleep up to five people
A brand-new full-service restaurant where you can enjoy savory meals
An additional savanna that you can view from your room
A feature pool and water play area — fun for children, tots and teens

The operative word there is "MOST". My guide told me that 78% of the rooms will indeed be Savanna view, but that means 22% wont be, so unless you book Savanna view to guarantee that, it will only be a request. As for the size. The speculation here has been that all value rooms will be smaller, but I have not seen or heard anything official on that as yet. Even the guides seem to not have all the information.

Unfortunately Disney has not published much info about AKV. The information people are providing in their replies came from phone conversations with their guides and even then there have been inconsistent reports. Most do seem to be reporting that the "Value" rooms will be smaller or oddly shaped rooms. It is generally believed that they will be created from the conversion of standard-size AKL rooms in the Lodge, so there may not be any Value villas in the new building (Kidani Village) but again, we don't have any official word on that yet. Given the size difference between a deluxe-size AKL room and a standard-size AKL room, I suspect the Value studios will be about 40-50 square feet smaller than the non-Value studios.

thanks for all the info, will wait for offical stats to come out,but the value in all room speck is less on pointsWill wait to see if it is smaller rooms. But even next class up is still less points than corasponding at ssr

Correct. While the 'Value" room is 83 pts for your weeks, the 'Standard' room is only 99 pts, which is still less than the 112 for SSR. However, a comparison of the point charts shows that for those resorts that don't have different room 'view' classifications, the general comparison is to the 'preferred' room point chart for the other resort.

For example, all rooms (Studio, 1-B/R, 2-B/R) at BCV and VWL are the same point costs as the Preferred rooms at BWV. Not the same as the 'Standard' rooms at BWV.

Thus following this structure, the regular rooms at SSR would be comparable to the Savanna (preferred) rooms at AKV. In this case while your SSR room would be 112 points, the AKV room would be 117 points, which is an increase in the point structure.

Diane, I think there is enough info available to believe that the value rooms are smaller including from a number of guides. Standard rooms should guarantee not having a Sav View unit. It will be hit or miss for value and concierge it appears. It also appears that the Concierge and value units will only be in the current building. It'll be interesting to see how the mix of rooms ends up in the new vs old building. Assuming one will be able to book a building, that combined with the unit type should give one some control over some of the view variables. And given physical location and check in will be separate, I assume one will know at time of reservation whether you're in the current lodge buildings or the new one.

I agree with that assessment on room size, Dean. It is what I was trying to say in my original post. The MOST part I was refering to, is that MOST of the (non-value) rooms will be larger, not ALL of the rooms will be larger, which is what the OP was expecting.
