AKLV dues question

I thought I understood that when I did my add-on at AKLV that since the unit I bought would not be available for occupancy until Sept. 01 ( and this was confirmed when I tried to make my ressies) that I would not be charged dues until then. I just took a look at my bank statement and I was charged both for the loan and for dues. Is this correct? I don't mind paying them but am thinking I misunderstood my guide. I will call her but wondered if anyone could clear my muddled mind. ---Kathy

That was also my understanding. Dues would be pro-rated, but not charged until the units were available. I would call MS and ask them to clarify. Let us know!

I was wondering this too, Mine are showing online, but I have not paid them yet. I have a Oct Uy.

Your dues should be pro-rated based on the LATER of your occupancy date and your Use Year. For example, the unit I purchased has a Sep 1st occupancy date and I have an Oct UY, so I will owe dues for Oct, Nov and Dec this year. I verified that on the dvcmember website: the 2007 dues listed for my AKV contract works out to exactly 92 days worth of dues. Those with a UY of Sep or earlier and a Sep occupancy date would owe 4 months (actually 122 days) worth of dues for 2007.

Have you checked your dues statement on the dvcmember website to verify that you are being charged only 4 months/122 days worth of dues for 2007?

I was under the impression that we were being charged for only dues after 9/1 but that it was broken down over 5 payments starting in August. Can't get onto the dvc member site yet to verify, our points just popped up in our account yesterday from the waitlist.

I have an oct UY and have not heard or seen anything yet regarding my dues.

Checked the DVC members website and everything looks correct there with only the loan payment being deducted ( plus my dues for my OKW contract). The dues amount didn't seem correct to me on my bank statement. Usually we pay them yearly vs. having them deducted so it's probably my own math calculations that are off. Thanks for everyone's response. I just wasn't sure that I'd interpreted the information correctly to start with. ---Kathy
