We are staying at AKL with the Arusha view based on the recommendation of our travel agent. Any insight on how good the area is to see animals on a regular basis? Is there a certain area we should request for the best view?

You already have one of the best savannas to view them. They'll tell you when the best time to see the animals, but pretty much they're there for most of the time you be watching.
