AKL - which room should I request??

WHere should I request if I reserved a 2 Bedroom savanna view in Kadani today (for Thanksgiving 2012). Very excited as this is our first trip to AKV. We own at BLT and I had to convince the kids that AKV would be cool - I hope it is.

Is there anything special to do at AKV? I would like to schedule something for Thanksgiving as I won't want to go into the parks that day.

The hallways are very long. But the farther away from the lobby you get, the better the Savannah views. So you have to weigh whether the extra walking is worth the additional animals to watch.

I see a lot of people suggest asking for a room by the lobby, so is that really just because people don't like walking? I kinda wish I knew that before having the member I bought points from request a room closer to the lobby. I would rather have a better view of the animals than a shorter walk to the lobby.
