AKL - when to book

My dh and I are going to WDW *alone* in October for our 15th anniversary. We have decided that we want to stay at AKL. When should we book? We probably can't afford to book until after we get back from our vacation in March, but are concerned that we won't be able to get a decent room. We aren't interested in Conciege level, but we want a Savannah view room. Would we be able to get that sort of room in April for October? Any recommendations as to what to ask for?

I would book ASAP and wait for codes and discounts later--you can always change your reservation till 5 days before.

I'm not understanding why you have to wait till you get back from your March vacation to book. You only have to put one night's deposit down, and you can charge it on a credit card. I can't imagine it would be more than $200 or so.
