For those of you who have stayed in standard parking lot view rooms, where was your room? Did you like the location? FIL has a bad knee and would like to be close to buses, Mara, and the pool, but not at the expense of having a bad room. We don't want to be in a heavy traffic/loud area either. I also don't think I want to be on the first floor.

If I'm too specific about where I want to stay will that hinder my chances of getting a possible free upgrade. Has anyone ever gotten an upgrade when their reservations were linked with two other rooms?

I would love to get some opinions.

Absolutely, you are hindering your chances. I make no requests except guaranteed nonsmoking and almost always get some sort of an upgrade (except once at WL in July). When you are flexible this always helps. Just wait until you check in and ask where they are going to put you and mention about the walking issue. JMHO

I figured that was the case.

This was really the question I wanted an answer to, so I'm just gonna post it again to bump the thread back up.

just bumping, before this goes to pg 2.

Anyone know the answer?

My room was AWESOME. :) We were in room 5102 which was near the elevator and when you stepped out the front door you could look down at the lobby.

It may hinder your chances but you really don't want an upgraded Savannah room if it requires a long walk. You really need to request a room near the lobby or restaurants and hope for the best.

People who are paying for a Savannah view have the right to request a room near the restaurants people asking for a free upgrade really don't have that right.

You may be in the position of having to decline a free upgrade.
