AKL Visibility of River of Lights

Anyone have a good guess whether any of the River of Lights show will be visible from AKL since it's less than a mile as the crow flies? I assume there will be no "big" fireworks due to the animals?

I don't know, but I would seriously doubt it. The show looks pretty low to the water.

With that in mind, seems I read here a while back that someone was pleasantly surprised when they saw fireworks off in the distance from their balcony at AKL. Where would that have been?

AKL is not so far from Hollywood Studios as people think it is.

We saw the Star Wars fireworks while waiting for a bus back to our resort from Animal Kingdom. It was a nice view.

We were able to watch the Tree of Life Awakening and the DHS fireworks at the same time.

Yep, HS fireworks you can see. You won't see anything from AK

It's actually also about where they come down, and the noise level closer vs. at DHS. Those are high DHS fireworks, and the angle doesn't really show you where they come down. The volume is also diffuse in AK.

The AZA recommend against fireworks in zoo areas.

those fireworks are over Everest which is the opposite end of DAK from the animals. It also isn't that loud you just see the pretty high bursts. If they were to shoot off fireworks form the area inside DAK or on the perimeter of it there would be some fall out issues and the noise would be much louder.


OP I expect 0 form DAK on ROL because there isn't anything very high.

We could also hear them VERY well all the way to the "back" of Center Court!
