What was your value studio room at AKLJambo view? Just curious if it was a positive or neg experience. Thanks for your opinion. :)

We have not stayed in one, but I discussed it thoroughly with a DVC cast member. The value has smaller square footage and has various views. There are savanna views and standard views with some of the value studios. From what I understood there are very few savanna views and mostly standard views.

Hope this helps.

Loved the value studio. I've booked it again for October. Here was my view-

Some have parking lot views, some have pool views, some have savanna views. It just depends. The value villas were carved out of the existing space and are quite a bit smaller than the non-value villas at Jambo House.

Last year we rented a studio value unit from a member. We had a savanna view

imho it was amazing as the giraffes slept out in the open by our room & they kept me "company" as I was up with the flu several nights in a row.

Comparing it to this last trip at Kidani in a savanna view unit however I can see the difference in points: For a studio, the value room (Jambo house):

  • was MUCH smaller (literally no place to put those 4 big couch cushions, 4 big bed pillows or luggage);
  • had a smaller bathroom area (kidani's studios have a huge bathroom layout).
  • was on a higher floor than we were this kidani trip (we looked down on animals verses across to them);

I'd go with the Value room again if I need to save on points, but only for those high fri/sat nights and then switch to at least a standard at Kidani. The extra room is worth every point.

:lmao: We were told at check-in that we'd have a "pool view"! She should've just said we were on the same side of the hallway as the pool.

This was actually all my fault but the girl never should've said it had a pool view. This was a cash ressie with the DVC discount & I'd orig. requested a savanna view. We arrived early (between 12 & 1:00) and at check-in the savanna view rooms were not ready yet. We were anxious to head out to the parks so I asked if they had any pool view rooms ready as an alternate choice. She checked and said she had this one. NEXT time, I will just wait!!! :rotfl:

I don't have a photograph, but my room was close in proximity to the entrance where people go in for Jiko/Boma, but of course up on the 5th floor, and had a very nice view of the pool. I actually liked the view - unfortunately, there was a 'boom' right below the window for painting the exterior. What luck. ;)

Actually, the value studios will not have a parking lot view - only savanna or pool - which makes it a great bargain on points usage.

I've had 3 value studios. Two were sunset savannah views, and one had a pool view. All three stays were fine. We put the huge pillows on top of the cabinet. There are only 2 of us and we've had enough room. One of our value savannah studios was "dedicated" and it had an extra built in closet.

We had a value studio in January, we had the Sunset Savanaha view. Put the cushions on top o of the cabinet and you will be fine. It was great for two of us. We will be in the value 2bd in two weeks. It is so worth it because of the savings on points. My two daughters will have the studio portion of the 2bd, and it will be plenty big enough for them.

We had a dedicated value studio last month with a pool view. I thought it was nice. Enjoyed our snack on the balcony late at night. My DD and I decided that it was good for 2 adults, maybe 3 but 4 adults for longer than 2 nights might be just too cozy.

We had a value studio with a savanah view and are doing the same in June, with the 4 of us( 2 adults, 2 small children) it was a bit crowded when it came time to pull the bed out, but otherwise it was great..

Anyone have pictures of the inside of a value villa? I'm staying in a 1br soon and really curious of the layout and size.

Check out the vacation planner. It has room layouts from both Jambo House and Kidani Village. The value one bedroom will just be shorter without the sleeper chair.

I cannot speak of a 1 bedroom value villa, but I did stay in a value studio. While the room was absolutely lovely and fine for my solo trip, it definitely felt a little tight and I'm not sure I would do it even if it was just my DS10 and me. It wasn't horrible, but compared to a standard view studio in Kidani, Kidani was luxurious in its size. [but I hated my view at Kidani]

I thought that value studios at Jambo can have either a parking lot, pool or savanna view. Am I correct? I also thought that standard view studios at Jambo all have pool views. Is this correct. Also are all the rooms in Jambo on 5th and 6th floor only.
I would appreciate any help with this question.

Am I the only one who actually got the parking lot view? The room was very nice just a little a little cramped with 2 adults and a pack-and-play. I would do it again for a night or 2 to save points but not for a full vacation. If it was only my wife and I, I wouldn't hesitate to stay in a value studio again (I just hope I could get a better view:goodvibes).

You are correct about the value views and the standard views at Jambo. As you can see from one of the above posts, some of the pool views could have lots of foliage blocking the pool, but some even view bits of the savannah beyond.

Only DVC's Concierge level rooms are on the 6th floor. All of the other DVC villas at Jambo are on the 5th floor.

THANKS for all of the helpful replies!!! I switched my ressie to save some points. I asked a CM the room dimensions of value vs standard, and his reply was 316 SF for both. Everyone seems to say the value is smaller in size, but according to this CM, they are the same? :confused3 Is this the case?
