Hi

I want to add on....I own at WL....thought I would add on there.

The more I think.....I realize I will have to vacation like the rest of the
masses....when my DD is out of school.

Points are very expensive at those times...but the AKL value rooms
are downright reasonable. If I add on there do you guys think
it will still be a very difficult room to book at 11months.

Also B/W standard rooms also look appealing....How hard is it to
book that at 11 mos....

Also does anyone know what the view is at those 2 categories.
Thanks
Kerri

Im not really sure, I would think that you should be able to get what you want at 11 months. I called day by day for the 1st week of december this year and got 2 SV studios for myself and my parents. I was able to get what I wanted even though this is a very busy time. I also got the Value studio for my next trip in May at the 7 month mark. Good Luck with your choice.:goodvibes

We really haven't had enough experience with AKV to give you a good answer on availability of the value rooms.
But based on previous experience with the other resorts, if you plan to visit mostly in the summertime, you will not have trouble getting either standard view at the BWV or a value unit at the AKV if you book at 11 months. Summertime is actually one of the easier times to book DVC accommodations. Christmas & Easter will be more difficult, but if you call day by day at 11 months, you should be able to get what you prefer.

The SV units at the BWV overlook the resort entrance and the driveway leading up to it. There is lawn, flowers and nice landscaping between the villas and the black topped areas. Some (not all & not most) of the SV rooms have a view of the higher level IllumiNations fireworks from the balcony.

The AKV value rooms will only be in the Jambo building. They are smaller than the other categories (For example, the 1 bedrooms sleep only 4 rather than 5 because there wasn't room for the sleeper chair that is present in the other categories). Value rooms have a view of the pool, the parking lot or the Sunset Savanna.

I bought (BWV) points by resale and did not close until 6 months out, I was able to get a preferred studio for March Break, there were some nights in a standard but not all, I'm waitlisted. I recently purchased some more points and booked 4 nights at the beginning of my vacation at AKL Savannah View, they had standard available, didn't mention the value studios, so I assume they were not available. But, hey, that was 4 months out.

Maybe I've just been incredibly lucky, but I think all the talk about not getting your preferred resort causes people to be alarmed. Most of those folks are talking about, really peak times like Christmas and Thanksgiving, and also room types that are not that common. I think studios and 1 bedrooms are easier to come by. Good luck with your decision.
