Does anyone know what room numbers are the 2br value lockoffs on the Ostrich Trail side of the building? I've been looking at THIS map, but am not able to tell which are considered "value" (this is only floor 5, the link for floor 6 doesn't want to work for me).

I think I found someone to rent points from so we're probably going to be switching out our ASMo ressies for AKL, and want to know what requests I should put in for the best view of Sunset Savannah (though I do understand that with the value level, it's a request, not a guarantee)! Quite the jump for us

I believe the values are the ones in the 50xx and 51xx ranges. The 6th floor is Concierge Level.

Everything in the Ostrich and Giraffe trails (closest buildings to front of resort) are considered values. These rooms are 3 feet shorter from door to balcony than the rooms in the back buildings.

There are 10 2 BR lockoffs -- (4 savanna, 4 pool, 2 parking lot view) and 8 dedicated studios.

We stayed in 5110 & 5112 first rooms off lobby in Ostrich trail in 2008. Great location, very convenient.

The white rooms on that map of the 5th floor are AKL hotel rooms, not DVC.

I was in a 2br Lockoff last fall and was in 5130

What were you doing in MY room? :)

We had the same room in May/June of this year. The most amazing hotel I've ever been in, and it was our first DVC trip. The SSR treehouses are next for us. :)

As for view requests on values, from what i was told by the cast member when i booked, they don't bother with requests, it's just the luck of the draw when you get there. They know everyone wants savannah view. After all, think about it, would someone call and say "Can I PLEASE have parking lot view"?

Thanks so much for the insight!

Hm, that does make sense, unfortunately. So, do you think it's the people that check in first that get assigned the savannah rooms, then? We'll be driving from SC, so I can definitely time our arrival for the best chance at one!

Also, if anyone has photos of one of these rooms, that would be awesome! I'd also love photos of views from the different balconies (even parking lot!)

Getting the view depends on lots of things. Even if you get there early, it may be that the only 2 bedroom to be vacated that day is the parking lot view. I've checked in at 9PM and got one of the dedicated savannah view studios.

Hm. That also makes sense, thanks! I wonder if we check in and end up in a parking lot or even a pool view, could we ask if a savanna view is due to vacate the next day and switch rooms mid trip? I know I'm being picky, but DH is already iffy on spending the extra money, and feels like there's no point in staying there without the savannah view (though I've told him that there are plenty of public areas to go to see the animals, and really...WE'LL BE IN DISNEY WORLD!!)

ETA: We'll be checking in on a Sunday, if that matters.

I was all ready to ask 3001 questions when we checked in, but we received a savannah view without asking. As mentioned earlier, it's not necessarily when you arrive, it's what room is available next.

Just for information purposes, I asked if we DIDN'T have a svannah room, if a savannah room was coming available later in the day, could we NOT take the first room available but wait for that savannah view. Thecast mamber said "officially no", but we do make exceptions.

Great info, thanks ;)
