AKL- Tomorrow!!

After months of antipication and reviewing great pictures and looking at menus we will be arriving at AKL tomorrow morning!!

We are SOOOOOOOOO excited to see the resort in person and experience all it has to offer. I keep dreaming about sharing my morning coffee time with the giraffes from my balcony.

You will not be disappointed! Our kids are now 21 and 23, we've stayed in various deluxe resorts including the Polynesian ... and AKL remains their favorite. Enjoy!

I hope it meets with your expectations! We love AKL! Make sure to check out the activities board on your arrival. And if you are staying Jambo, you can go over to Kidani and use the pool there too - the slide is super fun. Have a great time!!!

We travel as a party of 5 including myself, DH and 2 DDs ages 22 and 15, and my sister. We will be staying in a 1br villa Jambo House.

We have stayed at the CR and the YC way back in 1999 and 2000 when the girls were only 9 and 2! Then there was a gap of 10yrs with no wdw trips( well we did do DL and 2 Disney cruises in that gap). Anyway the girls were always talking about going back to WDW so in 2010 we stayed in 2 rooms at the ASMu and it was so great to get back to the magic we stayed there again in 2011! It is really fun to take the girls again now that they are older and the magic remains! Because now we all share memories of the planning and the trip itself.

But this trip has been especially anticipated because we are going to AKL!
It's like we're looking forward to 2 vacations: 1 to WDW and 1 to AKL!

Have a great time!! Never stayed at AKL but it looks beautiful and I'd love to have Boma right on my doorstep!!

We just left there yesterday morning and we loved it! This was the first time we wtayed there. We had a Savanna view that was amazing. The cast members couldn't be friendlier. The buses were awesome, never waited more than 10 minutes the whole week.
My 17 year old daughter loved watching the movies in the pool at night. Yes, she's 17. She also loved Boma and she's a picky eater. The Mara was great for quick snacks. Plenty of lounge chairs at the pool.
You'll enjoy it! I miss it already.

Cultural stories inside the lobby and fireplace (Free)
Outlook on Arusha on second floor (rocking chairs) great for sunrises
Zawadi Marketplace - inexpensive African gifts (under $20 good stuff)

So glad to hear the busses went well recently!

Now, if I could only get to sleep--we leave for the airport at 5:40 am which is in about 6 1/2 hours!

Well you have left for your wonderful WDW vacation. Hope you'll post a trip report when you get back. Our family leaves in 40 days for 5 nights at POP and then 5 nights at AKL. It's been 6 years since we've been there. Anxious to eat the African stew in the Mara and get a zebra dome. We have a pool view, my favorite. Sitting on the balcony in the morning drinking a cup of coffee enjoying the morning sun and the pool view. I too have been looking at menus, resort pictures, and reading my guide books. Hope your family is having the best vacation ever!
