We are new AKV owners and are looking forward to our upcoming stay. I am concerned about reports that the pool is very small. How does it compare to AKL's pool and can people staying at AKL hop to the AKV pool?

People staying at either Jambo or Kidani can use both pools. Jambo's pool is larger but I think Kidani's pool is nicer. As far as being large enough, some people say it's too small. We stayed in Kidani in May, and there was no overcrowding in either pool but of course, Kidani wasn't completely opened. Our family used both pools.

We were at Jambo House last week and went over to Kidani one day to use the pool - it didn't seem crowded then either. Your first impression will be that the pool seems small (it is smaller than Jambo's) but somehow it never fills up. Kids run over to the water play area or up the stairs to the slide, other people just lounge or hang at the pool bar. It appeared that people were dispersed all around.

Bobbi - do you know if all of Kidani is open now? If it is the pool size shouldn't be a problem.

We are just back from a 10 day stay at Kidani Village. We used the Kidani pool exclusively since every time we went over to Jambo House to eat, the Jambo pool seemed very crowded. I much prefer the Kidani pool - there was never any trouble getting four pool chairs together plus the staff runs great pool parties/games. My family and I won two trivia contests - one for music from the 70s and 80s and one for Disney trivia.

I do not think that Kidani is fully opened. If it were, wouldn't there be an announcement that it's all sold out?

We used both pools last week. Kidani's is smaller, but I didn't think it was too small. Some days/some times were busier than others (of course) but were always able to find pool chairs and never felt crowded out of the pool.

Also, the big Kidani slide is a step up from Jambo House's slide...the kids (ages 3-5) loved it. The 2 yr old liked the little slide at Kidani.

The water play area looked nice too, but our kids don't like showers, being shot with water, etc. so it was not a hit with them.

We stayed in June and thought the pool looked small, but it never got any more crowded than other resort pools. A lot of kids were at the playgrounds surrounding the pool, on the slide, etc... There were a lot of chairs. You can also sit at the pool bar adjacent to the pool. I was told at check-in that pool hopping to Jambo was definitely allowed but Kidani's pool area was so nice we stayed there.

My son loved the pool. He is 11 and had fun "battling" with big and little kids in the area where you can shoot water at one another.

We've been to Kidani twice since its opened. Both times the pool wasn't overly crowded; however, it might be a problem once the 2nd half of Kidani opens. Only time will tell.

We went at the end of June and stayed at Jambo. One of the days we went over to check out the Kidani pool. It was okay, but after about 45 minutes, we decided we just wanted to go back to Jambo. The Kidani pool was alot smaller and because the resort was new, there weren't alot of trees or vegetation like over at Jambo. Maybe it'll be better in a few years when everything starts to grow in nice. I also like how at Jambo, you walk right out from the hotel and you're in that tropical paradise around the pool. Whereas at Kidani, you have to cross the parking lot.

just my personal opinion!

Just got back from Kidani last Friday. It's true that the pool there is on the smallish side however, as others have posted it never got overly crowded but the Jambo House pool was. We only checked out the pool at Jambo once.

As far as shade is concerned, we didn't have problem finding either a table or lounge chairs in the shade again, probably because it doesn't get too crowded there.

Is there an official date for the opening of the rest of Kidani?

this is from the week of 8/5

It's not considered hopping to use a different pool at the same resort. So feel free to use the pool at Kidani if you are staying at Jambo.

Now BLT is a different story.
