AKL (Standard Room) or Pop Century - This May Sound Crazy

I will be vactioning in WDW from January 10 to January 20, 2004. Like everyone, I'm waiting for the codes to come out. I'm getting impatient, so I think I'm just going to make the ressie and adjust it when the codes come out.

But, I'm unsure on where I want to stay. I kinda want to stay at the Pop Century because it will be brand new, but I will be there when the marathon is going on so it will probably be crowed.

Or should I just stick with the good all around AKL? I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck on this trip (like all) beacuse we like to stay at one of the great resorts, but we are in and out of the room so much, some amenties go to the waste side.

And to really screw me up more I am also thinking about staying at WL and my mother wants to stay at the Beach Club. Also what were the discount rates for last year in January?

With 10 days it is not hard to do a split between two resorts. They will move yor bags for you. I would start out at Pop and then move onto the Deluxe for the end of the vacation. I love AKL and WL. YB/BC is a great area two parks within walking distance.

Just another idea to confuse you even more.

I am going through the same thing right now and boy does my head hurt as well. it's all I'm thinking about. At one minute I think okay were staying at AKL no matter what and then I say no let's go for the value. We are going in Oct. If PopCen. was an option I think I would just go for it but it won't be open when I'm there. So I'm left trying to decide between AKL and All Stars. We love AKL but this is a last minute trip and I don't want to spend all our trip money on our room. Why are they doing this to us? I swear I've lost 10lbs. sweating waiting for these darn codes to come out!

Mike, having been at WDW for the past two marathons, I can tell you that marathoners and their parties stay all over the place.

They have moved the expo back to WWoS (stupid IMHO--it's too small!) and the expo exhibitors room block is at CBR.

Many runners stay at either the Epcot or monorail resorts for transportation ease.

If anything PC will be less than over run with marathoners.
