AKL Savanah Views

Can someone please tell me which Savanah view is the best? My MIL is going with us and she is a fanatic about giraffes. Where will you find the most giraffes? Is there somewhere where I can find details about each savanah area?

We were on the Arusha savannah and the giraffes were almost always in the area. Our room was on the Zebra Trail, 3rd floor. It was a great view! Try www.allearsnet.com, Deb Wills' site for more details.

We just returned from AKL, had a savannah view. They are all good seriously and next time I wouldn't care what grade room we got there are so many places to view animals from that are accessable to everyone. There are large balconies with rocking chairs available to anyone that are all around the resort on the savannah side. There are "lookouts" for all to use in key animal watching locations. Yes it was neat to look out the window and see animals but they are everywhere. You will see more than your fill of animals from any room even if you have a parking lot view just walk down the hall and go out on one of the viewing balconies. Enjoy!

I just got back last night. We had a room at the very end of the Uzima savannah, 2nd floor. I could probably count on one hand and have fingers left over how many times I looked out and DIDN'T see a giraffe.

At first I was a little bummed about our room. I didn't mind the long walk to the end because it was so quiet, but there were fences just to our left. I thought they were holding pens or something, the next day I see 4 giraffes, 3 zebras, ankoles, and all kinds of other animals I don' tknow the name to in ADDITION to the ones on the Uzima savannah. Turns out our room had a view of both Uzima and Arusha.

I'm so glad we got the Savannah room. It takes me awhile to get motivated in the AM, so it was SO nice to be able to shuffle out to the balcony. There are a lot of places to view the animals from the hotel, but it's nice to not have to get dressed. . . or even put on shoes, haha. So the security cameras have me in my PJ's, oh well. . . it was nice.

Just returned from POR (5N) & AKL del sav view (3N) 5th floor inside right rm 5527..
5th floor has limited view because of the trees,, 2nd or 3rd would be better but nodeluxe rooms ( 5 people w/ bunk) left side inside ( Arusha ?) has sunrise and better view,, the key is the feeding spots they do and the giraffes got fed in the am in the center,, by the viewing spot rock ,, I'm not familiar w/ any otherspots, We didn't spend alot of time at AKL and in the afternoon the animals are in (?) until 5:00 feeding time--- as I was told by keeper.. For me it wasn't worth 3 times POR for each night,, but we had FUN.. Great pool,, get up early and go see it for sunrise,, try for rm on inside savannah as noise from 192 / outside area might be bothersome since the hurricane took down many trees that were a barrier.... There's a lot more outside noise from 192/ outside areas since it's on the edge of wdw..

LOL! Those security cameras have pictures of me in my nightie, too! And I still feel bad for the poor guards that had to see this Pooh-sized woman stitting quietly on her balcony, just drooling over the giraffes.

I am really struggling to keep my resolve, trying OKW in August. I keep wanting to go back to AKL!
