AKL safari for concierge guests - anyone done it?

I'm thinking of doing the new one @ 10 am (since I have kids and am not staying at AKL). I'm thinking it could be great... an hour and possibly getting closer to the animals... or, it could be a waste of $. Anyone done it? Thoughts?

I did the sunrise safari in May, and loved every minute of it! I would GLADLY do it again. I went at an earlier time, 8:00 or something, but we really got individualized attention. The truck stopped every time there was something to look at, and we didn't have to hear Little Red's story. Do it! Do it! Do it!

I am confused aboout your title and then your question.

The AKL Concierge Sunrise and Sunset safari are for AKL guest on the Concierge level.

I do believe there is another one for other WDW hotel guest.

I have not done this one and will have to defer to the experts.

The first answer given was the Sunrise safari for AKL guests.

Offered at 10 a.m. and 1 a.m. to concierge guests not staying at AKL. No meal attached to it... you do the tour for an hour and then they give you a FP for KS.

I did this tour in the spring and it was very good. I have done both the Sunrise and Sunset safaris thru the AKL. This one hour tour is not as good as the AKL safaris (no food involved in the 1 hour safari) but is very informative. You ride in a special van ( I believe it was air conditioned) but the windows slide down from top to bottom. The tour guide is an animal keeper at the park. We had an elephant keeper. He had great stories about the elephants but also knew alot about all the animals. The van pulls off the regular path and gives you the opportunity for even closer looks at the animals. It also gives the keeper more time to tell you about the animals and address any questions. I thought it was very informative and would do it again.
