I noticed on a point chart for next year that a week in a 2Br at AKL in June is 243 points in a Value location and 287 in a Standard location.

What is the difference for 44 points? Am I missing something?

Thanks...

Value rooms are three feet shorter, allow fewer occupants, and don't come with a choice of view

As long as I have a Q/K for us in the master bedroom, 2 separate beds in bedroom 2 and a sleeper sofa in the LR, I'm happy. Not there except to sleep anyway. We are family of 5. Sounds like a Value room would work... right?

Issue is usually availability. There are a limited number of value rooms and as the lowest point cost rooms they tend to disappear fairly quickly once the 11 month reservation window opens for owners of AKV, meaning if you are looking for June 2016, you needed to reserve in July 2015 and are unlikely to find a 2BR value open now except for maybe a night or two in June.

AKV Standard rooms, if considering those, tend to be open most of the year at 7 months out when owners of other resorts can reserve at AKV.

There are 10 two-bedroom lockoffs and 8 dedicated studios in the Value category. So, there will not be two separate beds in the second bedroom. There will be a king in the master, a queen in the studio, a full size pull out couch in the studio and another pull out couch in the living room, which I think will be a queen. And, while most one-bedrooms will allow five people, a value one-bedroom will only allow four, so your family of 5 will require a two-bedroom value room.

The value room does not have the extra sleeper chair in the living room, but that is not an issue for your group.

FWIW, all Jambo 2BR have the "sub standard" bathroom for the master bedroom with the shower in the jacuzzi tub. (And a hallway open to the living room when walking from the bathroom to master bedroom)

A Kidani standard would have a proper master suite, and a 3rd full bathroom.
