Ok, so we are booked at AKLV in a studio CL for the first night and a studio SV for the rest. Is it possible that we wont have to move rooms? Are there actual rooms deemed as CL rooms on the 6 th floor or is it just a predetermined set number of rooms that will be CL? Its really not a big deal to move rooms just wondering if this is a possibility. Just FYI the reason why only one night CL is that I just happened to snag it at 31 days out and thought why not give it a try. thanks!

CL rooms are on the 6th floor with the CL lounge. The other DVC rooms are on the 5th.

You can check in early and have access to the lounge.

I read somewhere that they are only 5 CL DVC studios. Also over on the CL threads it appears that only DVC is on the 6 th floor, no standard CL rooms, they are now on the 4 th fl. So if CL DVC is only on the 6 th it doesnt make any sense that there would only be 5 studios. Not saying anyone is wrong but just wanting to know if anyone can clarify that.

There are 5 and only 5 two BR lockoff's, so 5 studios, five 1BR possibilities though in reality there would likely only be 2 or 3 of the smaller units released for a given time with the rest reserved as 2 BR villas. The 6th floor is where the lounge is so it's a pretty small area.

The 6th floor is above the lobby. The only thing on the 6th floor is the DVC CL rooms and the CL lounge. 3 rooms have a bad savanna view and 2 have a roof/pool view. You can not request a view.

The 6th floor of Jambo House runs just along both sides of the lobby. It does not extend around the horseshoe or down any of the side trails. Before the conversion to DVC there were only 15 hotel rooms on the 6th floor, nine facing the Sunset Savanna, six facing the pool area. Each block of 3 hotel rooms was converted into one 2BR lockoff, making a total of five 2BRs on that floor (three facing Sunset, two facing the pool). They can be reserved as a 2BR or split up into a Studio and a 1BR, making a maximum of five Studios and five 1BRs if every 2BR is "locked off".

There have been occasions when they overbooked CL and gave a DVC member a room on the 5th floor instead with access to the lounge. If you would prefer not to move rooms and don't mind a (possibly long) trek to the lounge, you could add a request though MS (and again through the Concierge staff) to put you in a 5th floor room for the entire stay.

You won't get the full concierge experience if you're not on the 6th floor with easy access to the lounge but it might be preferable to being homeless between 11am and 4pm or later on your moving day.

Thanks for the tip. I think we will try this. We will be at Sea World that day so being homeless isn't really the biggest deal but like you said we would have to pack up that morning and then unpack that night, it would be easier to just be able to stay in the same room. Should I say Standard View, near lobby or overlooking the pool in my request? From the map these options look to be the best without having to walk a mile.

I don't think you can make requests on the CL villas. I think you get what you get. And you probably need to plan to be moved. Another guest will have probably booked the CL studio for the night after you move out. And I haven't heard of MS giving CL access to the 5th floor villas except for one time and then it was a fluke and the member had to be moved from the 6th floor.

In your initial post you stated that you are in a "Studio SV" for all but the first night of your stay. By "SV" do you mean "Standard View" or "Savanna View"? If you have a Standard View booked, most of those face the pool area, the rest are scattered around the resort (they are rooms that face a savanna but have somewhat restricted views). If you want to be close to the lobby then a pool view will work.

If you have a Savanna View studio your room will be anywhere other than the pool area and two trails on either side of the lobby (Giraffe and Ostrich Trails) because those are Value rooms. If you request to be close to the lobby that will work well for your one night CL reservation (assuming they are willing to put you on the 5th floor that night) but it may not be the best savanna view. I think the better savanna views are found further away from the lobby.

So sorry, didn't realize that. Its a standard view not savannah. I have head that oddly enough, the CL rooms don't have the greatest views, mostly roof, so it doesn't really matter to us where we are. I'll call and just see what they say. If we have to move, we have to move...not a big deal, just would be a bonus if we didn't.

100% chance of moving.
