Here are the Pictures I promised. We stayed at the AKL in a Deluxe Room #5515 on Arusha Savannah. There are Pics of the Pool also and the lobby etc. Sorry, no time to add captions! Let me know if you like them and if any questions!

Fantastic AKL series! You'd captured images I'd never seen of the AKL anywhere online-and some of the pics of the pool with guests swimming really reveal the SCALE of that pool!

your pictures are great. I was wondering the same thing about the pool. It is empty.The same with the hottubs. Was the pool and hottubs always this empty? We stayed at WL in June. The pool was always packed even in the evening. The hottubs were always so full you had to stand and wait until some one got out. Was your room located near the Mara? I am trying to get a feel for the resort. I would like a savanah veiw. but near the elevator to the pool. What floor were you on? Did you have to request robes in your room? For turn down service, do you just leave a note for housekeeping? Is there a charge for turn down or just leave a tip???? thanks. after looking at your pictures, I know this is where we are going to stay in May.......amy

corvair- The resort was only 1/2 full so it felt very empty. The pool is HUGE!!! To swim across took forever! The deepest it got was around 5 feet. You could swim without scraping yourself on the bottom but you could stand up if you got tired. I am 5 Ft. 2 inches. The hot tub was always empty! Yeah for me! Our room was a little hike to the Concierge but only a short walk to the first elevator which took us down to the ground floor and out the door was Mara to our left! I think it was conveinent to the pool and Mara but far to the Concierge. It was on the 5th floor.

Robes were in our room upon check-in. I always left a little note for housekeeping and turndown. I tipped $5 for daily service and $5 for turndown. The turndown girl always wrote me a note back and was ever so thankful!!!! There isn't a charge for this service.
