We are thinking of trying one of the restaurants at AKL after out AK day. Is it easy to get from AKL to POP? Or will it be a lot of trouble? We will have 3 kids , 8,6 , and 17 months.

I'm guessing after AK we just get the bus to AKL? But how do we get from AKL to POP?

Which restaurant do you recommend for kids?
Thanks!!

I haven't tried this from POP, but we made the trek from WL in Dec. We had to take a bus to MK and then another bus from MK to AKL...and then repeat on the way back. If you're doing dinner, use whatever park is having late EMH as your transfer point. i.e. if Epcot is open until midnight...take the bus from AKL to Epcot, and then pick up the POP bus at Epcot.

I think all three restaurants would be OK for kids, but from a food perspective- I'd take Sanaa or Jiko over Boma.

Personally, I think its a great idea to at least check out all the resorts - they are themed, and really neat! Especially AKL where you could ask for a window seat at Sanaa and dine with the African animals. Thats worth it to me! Have a great trip!!

I had to do this about two years ago. Its pretty easy, after dinner (i suggest boma for your family) just get a bus to DTD and then transfer to pop. :)

AKL is a beautiful Resort. After visiting the resort and eating at BOMA for the first time a few years ago, I made it my goal to stay there, I was so amazed!.

Another option is to take a bus from AKL to Downtown Disney and transfer to a bus back to your resort. This is a great time to shop The World of Disney and go into the LEGo Store and Once Upon a Toy. ( and others!);)

My first time there, we were at AK park that day, left the park and took a bus to AKL for one of the earliest seatings of Boma and took the bus back to AK park and then transferred to our resort bus. The buses still run to the parks after closing hours for awhile- you'll have to check those times.

I say just get on the first bus that comes! I mean, no matter what park it takes you to, you will be able to get a bus back to your hotel.

I thought it was kind of a pain to get from Pop to AKL, but then again, I was sick and impatient on our trip. We took a cab back just to spare us all the transferring but it was expensive, so I'd say that the traditional method is preferable.

I can't speak for Boma or Sanaa (although both look delicious) but Jiko was worth the trek.

We have eaten at all 3 and I recommend Sanaa with 3 young children. If you go before sunset you can watch the animals on the savannah from your table.

We always take a cab because unless you are stating at an MK resort, it's a pain to bus back. I hate the change at DTD and everyplace else is out of the way.
