I was thinking about booking AKL savanna view but then I was reading the desciptions of concierge rooms and was very interested because of the opportunity to do the sunrise safari. However, the room view is really what's important to me because I think being able to see the animals right from our room would really be great. So here's my questions:

If we book a savanna view regular room are we GUARANTEED the savanna view and can we request WHICH savanna we'd want?

I read that concierge rooms can be either pool or savanna view and you can't specify in making the ressie (we could only request savanna but it wouldn't be guaranteed) so if we decided to do concierge in order to be able to do the sunrise safari then we might not get a savanna view, correct?

Lastly, is there an age limit for the sunrise safari? (I read that for the sunSET safari it's min. age 16)

Thank you!

Don't know if I can answer this one. We were in the Arusha Savannah and enjoyed it. DD likes Zebras. You might want to read some of the other trip reports and the AKL thread.

Yes. It is a request. About 15 of the 55? rooms are on the 6th floor. About 6 of those are pool view, which I believe are smoking rooms. The other 9 have Sunset Savannah view. Others have reported that this view is not the best since you have to over look the roofline a bit. However the 6th floor rooms are convienent to the lounge. The other 40 rooms are on the 5th floor of the Zebra and Kudu trail.

No. No limit. My 3.5 year old went and enjoyed it. As long as they would be able to sit for a 40 minute ride though the safari. No problems. Just be sure to feed the little ones before the safari. It is a little too long to wait til the buffet for little tummies.

Request NON-SMOKING and 5TH FLOOR SAVANNAH VIEW. This combo will give you the best chance at a great view. The concierge staff helps place rooms. Call the concierge a week before and emphasize your request. They'll do their best to help you out.
