AKL pool info?

DDs and I just watched the Travel Channel show on the AKL and BC & YC. They'd like info on the pool at AKL and if I can find any good photos. Is it a fun pool? Of cousre they loved the BC & YC, but I think they are out of the price range. Anyone have any good site for us to look at?

The Disney website has a pretty good "panoramic" view of the pool that shows what it looks like. It is a very nice pool, but doesn't compare to Stormalong Bay. However, my kids have had just as much fun swimming at both places!

One thing that doesn't get enough press for the Animal Kingdom Lodge is the programs that run there, especially for children. The lifeguards run pool games, board games, and various other little events throughout the week. The resort also has a staff of African-born students that spend around a year working as a 'Savannah Guide.' They also have a whole host of programs, such as African doll making, animal tracking using telemetry, 'campfire' stories, and of course, learning about the animals themselves. If you've got children, it's a fabulous resort to go to.

I loved the pool's zero entry area, and the kids loved the slide.

AKL has a beautiful pool and pictures cannot do it justice. It really feels like an oasis. The water slide is fun and longer than it looks. The zero entry is very nice and the pool is very serene. I loved spending afternoons here, and so did my kids.

Here's the view we had of the pool from our room the week ending March 13th:

We were in Room 4018 on the Giraffe Trail and the second picture shows that we had a slight savannah view. To the left staright back from the pool, we could see giraffe, flamingoes, ankole cattle, etc...

Thanks for the great shot form your room. I hope we can get that kind of view at least. I'm in a standard hoping for an upgrade. I may bite the bullet and get the pool view room anyways.

could any resort pool around match stormalong? I doubt it. They'll love AKL too.
