AKL Pictures?????

pArKsFaN: GORGEOUS pics!!! :thumbsup2

Your balcony view looks a lot like ours did!
Thanks! I was a little disappointed about our "pool view", but my dh was happy. He was upset I'd booked pool view thinking there'd be too much noise. It turned out to be perfect though, and it was a decent view as long as you didn't look to the right. :thumbsup2

Thank you pArKsFaN, GREAT pics!
Thanks - I wish I'd taken more, but didn't feel like carrying the camera all the time...the vacation went too darn fast. ;)

We had a pool view when we stayed there as well, and we loved it! It felt very tropical to us, and we loved checking out how crowded the pool was before deciding whether or not to go down. :thumbsup2

Just there this past weekend - staying elsewhere, but had to go to AK Lodge for my traditional trip meal at Jiko...so snapped a few shots. Here's the sunset room...at sunset - this is a 3-frame in camera HDR to expose the dark room and the outside:

And of course, Jiko...my favorite restaurant in the World:

Very well done! :thumbsup2 That's the best shot I've seen of the Sunset Room. :goodvibes

Thank you! That room is tricky during sunset, because of how extremely dark it is and how bright the window light is. That's why I decided to use the in-camera HDR, set to an exposure range of 4 stops for the 3 frames. It was the only way to expose both the outside bright sunlit landscape and the super-dark interior.

we are sloted to stay at kidani and just hoping we do not feel like the red headed step children compared to Jambo....

:thumbsup2 Smart solution! :goodvibes

My favorite room! It's to the left rear of the main lobby, past the reception desks. Walk in, go all the way to the stairs that go down to the outside, turn 90 degrees left. There's a little DVC kiosk/desk in front of it.

It's a great chill out/reading room, has a balcony overlooking the side wildlife area, and at certain parts of the day is used for lectures/classes/talks, etc.
