Could anyone compare these?? Please! :earsboy: We have only stayed at Poly Concierge and would love to try another, but can't decide! :rotfl: Which one has the best variety of goodies? Also which is more kid friendly for my ds(8)?? We stay at BCV often, so SAB isn't really a factor for us! :Pinkbounc Would love some input! :cool1:

Having done both....AKL's lounge offers ALOT better selections. But, IP status is ALOT less then at YC. I've come to the conclusion it really depends on how much 'muscle' you want your conceirge to have and 'where' -- say you're at the YC, and want ressies at Jikos for 7 PM party of 6 -- AKL, hands down. Conversely, if you're at YC and want an illuminations cruise for 6, their far more likely to get that for you then AKL IPO.

HTH :)

That's an excellent point and something I witnessed first hand this past December. Friends were staying at AKL and couldn't get an Illuminations cruise through IPO, but we had someone who went out of their way for us at the YC IPO and secured the cruise.

I haven't stayed in the AKL, my other concierge experience is with the GF. I will say that the YC lounge was small, with very little seating. There's a nice balcony, but it overlooks the front of the resort and parking lot. The IPO staff was excellent though, I love the nautical theme of the resort, we had excellent mousekeeping during our stay and loved loved loved the convenience to Epcot and MGM. If you typically stay in this area with BCV though, you might want to try something completely different and go with AKL. They have a large lounge and you have the added benefit of booking a sunrise or sunset safari. These are exclusive to AKL concierge guests.

The AKL has a far superior concierge lounge (in a beautiful location overlooking the lobby), with a huge selection of food. The best food selection of the concierge lounges we've used (GF RPC, AKL, YC, BC and WL).

Also, if you stay at the AKL concierge, you can go on the sunrise safari, which we thought was EXCELLENT and well worth staying at the AKL concierge just for that.

We loved AKL concierge.

AKL has become my favorite resort in Disney. However, that being said, the BC/YC is my favorite location.

Depends on what you typically want to get out of a concierge stay. Do you plan on spending your afternoons/early evenings at the resort? If so, go for AKL. The food offerings were terrific and the service was second to none.

The resort, in and of itself, is just wonderful.

We stayed at AKL in a concierge room dec 26 2003 for 7 nights. I told them (in advance) I wanted to do an illuminations cruise on new year's eve - they booked us with breathless. It was awsome to sit there sipping champagne watching it while the folks above us were elbow to elbow - then took a cab from the yacht club back to AKL rather than fighting crowds (definitely take a cab from one resort to another - it's not much money and really convenient).
The food was really good - my kids liked the skewers of salmon, beef, chicken, and shrimp (it varied) and it was just really convenient. The espresso machine spoiled us. It's not "fancy" like a ritz carlton, but great for families and really creative with the snacks. The kids liked the bunk beds also - you have to request them and it's not guaranteed. The pool at the yacht club is a draw if your kids are older, but mine are still small and liked the zero entry at the AKL plus they went back and forth from the pool and hot tub (it was chilly out).
btw... we got an AP discount that time and it was only $259/night when rack was almost $600 for that room. It was so cheap. Kids liked simba's cub house also one night so we ate at Jiko - but weren't even really hungry since the food at the concierge lounge is so much and filling! Either way, enjoy!

AKL IPO got me everything I wanted, including CRT and Illuminations Cruise on Breathless. We go in September.

Thanks for your reply's! :Pinkbounc I think we are leaning toward AKL! :Pinkbounc Does anyone know which days they offer the sunrise safaris?
