AKL or WL ??

We were going to be at CBR in Dec. We currently have ressies at AKL instead, but I have been considering WL. What do you all think ? Any pros/cons to either ? I know WL would be more "Christmasy", but AKL is newer and has that different feel to it. Do all the rooms at WL have balconies? Is there any transportation other then bus to the parks ??

WL has a boat to MK. All rooms except 1st floor have balcony's. AKL offers only Bus transportation.

The WL has only real advantage over AKL, location. Your in the middle of everything, and if you have kids, you can get to the MK very quickly.

If you don't mind a bus ride, I'd go with the new resort. Otherwise, you'll be happy whereever you end up. You can't go wrong.

When we stayed at WL there was a boat launch to MK, the Contemporary and Ft. Wilderness. It was a delightful way to get around. We loved WL and would stay there again but the thought of seeing animals out your window is pretty cool. Do you have kids? They might like AKL better because of the Savannah. I know mine would.

Was the transportation a problem at WL ? Also, what if we had standard views at both ?

If it's standard view either place, I'd go with WL for location like jdwright said. It also depends on where you're going to spend your time. If you're spending a lot of time at MK, WL is much more convenient. If you're going to MGM and AK I think they're equally inconvenient!

Why not split your stay? Stay for part of your trip at WL and the other part at AKL. That's what we are doing in October because I couldn't decide between the two.

Only going for 3 nights so splitting doesn't really make sense for us . Thanks though

I have stayed at both and we have kids ages 5 and 3. WL is so much better for us because of transportation to the MK and also the kids love Chef Mickeys at CR. We stayed at WL in December and the decorations were incredible!! A very gorgeous resort!! The only time we have ever had a Standard View room was at WL the first time we stayed and it was of the Parking Lot/Smokehouse.

We stayed at AKL this past May and we also loved this resort as well...except that everything is by bus...to go anywhere, you need to take a Bus, which isn't a bad thing, just gets tiring to wait with two children! LOL Having a view of the animals though was worth its weight in gold as the kids really loved this!!

Hi there, We just got back last night from WL and it was great! We went w/ dd's (both 6 yrs old) and they loved it too. We were going to stay at AKL originally, but decided on WL because it's so close to MK where we spend most of our time!
