Hi, still trying to decide on a resort. In all honesty, we will probably spend most of our time at Epcot and MGM, MK is not a priority. However, we do not wish to spend a whole lot of time traveling (will probably rent a car). considering this, which resort is better?

Again we will be visiting in April so we are considering how crowded the parks will be. But I hear AKL is great with a Savannah view especially for our 7 and 10 year olds. But contemporary is great as well (larger?) and will have refurbished rooms. Which to choose?

How far away really is AKL from Epcot and MGM?

Thanks

I am not a fan of CR and AKL is a favorite resort of my family's. CR is just so sterile in appearance. And AKL is one of the best themed resorts I have ever stayed at. We have never found it to take much time to get to any of the parks from AKL. If you take the busses (I know you said you weren't), I find they go faster since AKL busses don't share routes.

I am also not a fan of CR so I would choose AKL. We always drive and don't find AKL to really be that bad of a drive. :paw: :paw:

We just returned from a split stay (July) between CR Tower and AKL Savannah. I can't say enough positives about our stay and the staff at the CR. But, our stay at AKL was awful. We will never stay at AKL again. The staff and service was terrible - rude and always as though there was something else that they would rather be doing! Also, the view are not amazing. A few giraffes every morning is not enough to make me go back.

I have stayed at CR twice and loved it. It is very convenient if you want to go to Epcot.

We just returned from a split stay between AKL and the GF. My boys, 6 and 9, absolutely loved the AKL. There were animals in view 22 hours a day and the staff at the AKL we found to be very friendly. The guides had lots of information and had good ideas for around the resort. There was a parade around the lobby in the evening where they let kids play "instruments" from the gift shop, then got a magical memory certificate. If you are renting a car, then I would definitely say stay there. No park took more than 12 minutes to get to from there, and we had free parking at the parks, since we were staying on property. We love the convenience of the GF, but will probably continue to stay at AKL for as long as the kids are interested in the animals.
