AKL or CR ?

I'm thinking ahead to next year's trip(too much time on my hands). We will probably stay at Pop for 5 nights and then I was thinking of spending one night at either AKL or CR. This would be on our anniversary, but we would have our DD's (who will be 16 and 12) with us. Which would you recommend and why? Thanks!

If you are staying for only one night, and it's for your anniversary, it may be nice to splurge and get a conceirge-level room at the CR and you will have a lovely view of the castle (I think) and you can see the fireworks from your balcony. I would imagine that to be a lovely way to spend your anniversary.

I'm sorry, I'm not an expert, but just wanted to provide some feedback.

Another vote for the Contemporary. That way you would have easy access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot on the monorail for those two days. One night probably isn't enough to really experience the Animal Kingdom Lodge and all the activities there, unless you just spent the whole time at the Lodge, so if it were me, I would save the AKL for another time when you can do say 2 or 3 nights.

Thanks for the replies. Concierge may be nice, but not in our budget. I should have mentioned that we will be finished with the parks by the end of the week (our anniversary is on Friday) so we would be spending the entire day at the resort. Anyone else? What do you like about these resorts?

I've stayed at both and if you are staying at the resort I would definitely go with Animal Kingdom. There are a million and one things to do here and the pool is beautiful. I didn't really care for the pool at the Contemporary. The location of it was beautiful but it was just really plain in my opinion. AKL has story telling at night, night vision goggles to see the animals with, guides out on Arusha Rock to answer questions, a magnificent collection of art and artifacts from Africa, INCREDIBLY nice CM's and great food. The Contemporary definitely has some great restaurants and the concourse area has nice shopping options but this hotel just seemed a little too sterile or something to me. Have fun deciding.
