AKL or BC?

We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach Club resort last month. I know '07 is a long way off, but I've learned that the time goes by faster than you realize. Anyway, on our last trip we got a chance to see ALK where we had breakfast one morning at Boma. It's a beautiful hotel, so I'm considering the possibility of staying there our next trip. I'm having a tough time weighing out the pros and cons which are as follows:

ALK
Pros-Beautiful resort, easy access to AK and Boma, lovely views of the animals. Deluxe resort at a nearly moderate price.

Cons-A bit far removed from the other parks, pool is just ok.

BC
Pros-Again, beautiful resort, in the middle of it all with easy access to Epcot, MGM and many dining choices, SAB of course!

Cons-Deluxe resort at a deluxe price.

In a perfect world we would stay 10-12 days at BC. We didn't have time to do all we wanted at the hotel and in the future would like to alternate a park day and rest day (will probably buy 7 day park hoppers). It would be cheaper to do this at AKL. Can you tell my heart is set on BC? I'd love to hear your opinions to help me decide. Thanks in advance!

can you split your stay? That is what we are doing this nov. AKL 2 nights and then YC 5 nights.

Have you ever considered purchasing 1 AP and the rest PH passes?? We did this on our last trip and they saved us considerably with using the AP rate for the resort. We were able to stay in a Deluxe resort for the price of a Moderate.

I believe allearsnet.com has a AP calculator that will help you figure if this will save you.

The only negative is trying to call and get the codes, and sometimes you have to be flexible on dates or resort choice.

I had forgotten about the AP option! That may work because we're doing PH instead of UPH (we were there on the 7 for 5 package).

Hmm, a split stay might not be bad, we could get the best of both worlds. So many options, my head is spinning already!

I would split the stay - both resorts have their own special attributes. Splitting gives you the best of both.
We are splitting our upcoming family trip between the Dolphin & AKL. On days we are at the Dolphin, we will do more park-hopping - AKL,AK park, more resort based activities & down-time.
I fell in love with the Swan & Dolphin after staying there, yet I still want to try all the different resorts on property. My son & I ate at Boma's & were just fascinated by AKL - what a beautiful resort. We knew it was next on the list to try.
