We are planning a Universal trip for the summer, but would like to stay one night at AKL. We can stay in a studio with points we have left over. Never been to AKL and would like stay there to enjoy the amenities. The pool looks great and I can see myself enjoying the full day there. I assume there are plenty of "free" activities that can keep us (family of four with two teenagers) busy at the resort for the day. I would love to hear what others think. For one night would you choose Kidani or Jambo or does it really not matter?

Thanks!

This is my home resort and I tend to switch off between Kidani and Jambo. If you've never been, I would say Jambo. It's much more grand but Kidani is only about a 10 min walk from Jambo so there isn't really a reason you can't enjoy both places. The daily activity schedule there always lists both resorts. Many people juggle back and forth for the activities.
They have a ton to do besides animal viewing and many cultural representatives which are a joy to talk to. Free tour of the restaurants at 4 pm in Jambo (with free tastes!). Both sides have probably 3 of the best restaurants on property.
Night vision animal viewing is an incredible experience that I highly recommend. It's better at Jambo due to lighting. Kidani's savanna at night is fairly lit up so it's harder to see the animals with night vision goggles.

The studios are slightly small her in Jambo so if size is a huge issue, you may want to consider Kidani. I personally didn't "feel" a difference in them but I'm only in the studio to sleep and shower. Either pool is great.
Enjoy.

Thank you. Very helpful. Since it is only one night I am not concerned about the size. I think Jambo would be perfect.
