AKL - One night - Review

We just went for the weekend. We arrived early and decided to go straight to the lodge to check it out before heading to a park. I went to the desk to confirm our reservation, they weren't busy. We were allowed to check it right then at 9:00 AM. They were less than 50% full, so they also upgraded our room. The CM was terrific!

We did the night vision hunt... using goggles you can see the animals on the savannah at night.

We swam in the pool and it was very relaxing. We got in the spa, it was 104 degrees. Very relaxing for a few minutes but the chlorine ended up stinging our eyes.

We tried to get a drink at the bar and there were people sitting at the bar... but the bartender didn't come back for a long time, so we gave up.

It's a great place. Be sure to take time and look around at the artifacts. It was all quite fascinating!

Glad you enjoyed your stay and got an upgrade! Did you ask or did they just give it to you? You mentioned the goggles for night-time animal viewing. Did you bring them or did you get them at the AKL? Can't wait to stay there Christmas time!

I asked because it was our first time there and I was thinking of going ahead and paying for the upgrade since it was our first time there. Since they weren't even close to full, she was able to work that Disney magic!

The goggles are provided by the lodge. There is a CM out there to help you out and provide information. There were only two sets of goggles, but everyone is very nice and passes them around.
