AKL - October 2016 (MNSSHP and Food & Wine)--- 7 Month Booking

Hello! I have have searched through the threads and haven't seen what I'm looking for posted.

This would be my 1st trip during this time of the year at Disney. We just did our 1st Holiday (Christmas) last year. Would there be any availability at AKL for October 2016 at the 7th month booking window? Or is this time of year just like Christmas? I'm guessing it is, but it never hurts to ask. Keeping options open to try to go 2-3 times in 365D. TIA!

This year for the week we were looking to book in Oct there was a lot of AKL availability right at the 7 month window. I was looking at my other options in case I wasn't able to snag a studio at PVB. I'm assuming you aren't trying to get a value or CL room as those will most likely be long gone before the 7 month window opens. That being said I would book right when the 7 month window opens as Oct is an extremely popular time for DVC members to travel.

Yes, studio @ Kidani or Jambo. Values have been hard @ 7month in May and June for the past 2 years. I will probably book @ my Home Resort just in case.

Mostly gone will be AKV value and club level and for many nights Jambo GVs; also Jambo standard and savanna view studios and 2BRs could be missing some days each week and thus might be a problem based on what was available at 7 months out this year; even the Jambo 1BRs can be missing a few days in Oct. At Kidani, the standard GV is likely to be gone much of the time and the savanna GVs could be misisng many days particularly during the middle two weeks of the month. For 2015, Kidani standard and savanna view rooms were open 7 months out for all of Oct except for the following: (a) the dedicated standard 2BR was missing October 8 (a Thurs) and 17 (Sun); (b) dedicated savanna 2BR was missing Oct 15 (Fri) and 16 (Sat), and (c) the standard view studio and 2BR lock-off was also missing Oct 15 and 16.

And for your info, Christmas is not the highest DVC demand time of the year, the first week of Dec is and the second week of Dec is tied with Christmas. Close to those are five other extremely high demand times: Thurs to Sun of each of Columbus Day weekend, the weekend after Columbus Day weekend, the weekend in Nov that has the Wine & Dine Race, and marathon weekend in Jan, and also the Tues to Fri of Thanksgivng week.

Thanks for info!! But not sure about Christmas info. Booked split stay between VGF & BLT, both studios @ 11month. 12/16-12/27 & both resorts were booked within days of opening for studios. But in October when airfare was cheaper we went a day earlier & was able to book @ AKL-Kidani not VGF or BLT. This why asking about October, specially Halloween & Food & Wine.

Edit: I understand what you're saying now. I'm guessing I had to book (went by what threads said) due to the resorts & room category of my choices.
