We checked in on Thursday and I was disappointed there was not that familiar scent that I love so much. Normally it's on the verge of being overwhelming. Thought it was maybe a fluke but day 2 and still nothing. Anyone else notice anything?

I've stayed at almost every deluxe resort within the past few years, and have never noticed a lobby scent in any of them. Perhaps I'm oblivious, or perhaps WDW no longer does lobby scents. I have no idea which. :confused3 I will say that it's something I'd never miss.

The only lobby scent I've ever noticed is that godawful fish smell from the Cape May Cafe in the lobby of the Beach Club.

I mean, it always smells like Boma food is cooking, is that what you mean? Something delicious on the grill sort of thing? But how could that be gone?

There was definitely a scent in the AKL lobby on our last stay here, maybe October 2015. Kind of a woodsy/spice scent. It was strong, if you ever smelled it you would know. Probably something else that was cut out of the budget :sad2:

It's not Boma, we just had dinner there tonight and that is a different kind of wonderful aroma :D

We stayed at AKL back in Nov. 2015. When they had a fire burning in the evening there was a fire smell but other than that I never smelled anything else.

The only scent I remember from AKL was from the little fire pit in the back of the lobby. GF, YC/BC had a nice scent in the lobbies.

I'm pretty sure it's the smell of the wood burning oven in the restaurant (that's what I was told by a CM) and I have no explanation for why it would be missing...

ETA: BC actually has a signature scent that they diffuse into the lobby.

There is a lovely scent diffused in the lobby of the Swan. Reminds me of Bath & Body Works’ White Tea and Ginger fragrance.

I know that smell-it's kind of a scent of African spices. I was at Jambo on Wednesday, the 25th, and now that you mention it, I didn't smell it then. I must admit, I'm kind of surprised at myself for not noticing its absence at the time. I like that smell.

^^^probably to counteract the stench from the Cape May Cafe!

I didn't notice any smell last week, we went for dinner at AKL twice. They still have a lovely pine smell at WL so it can't be all the resorts.
