AKL LITE unofficial FAQ thread#10 - I believe that's known as a 'Jambo Dozen'

I'd either take a taxi or you could take a bus to MK and then hop the monorail to Poly. I'd think at night the bus to MK wouldn't be too crowded....

...personally, this is what I would do also...

...there are a couple that are pool view...

Really? I was not aware of that. Their description of the room indicates that they are all Arusha view. That is the sole reason we went on and paid the $15/night difference between Arusha and Club. I do not want a pool view, period. I will put up a big stink if that's what we get put in. Do you know which room numbers are CL pool view?

....if you are standing in the lounge, looking across the lobby, the rooms to the right [on the 6th floor] are pool view....of course, they may have been changed to DVC rooms, but they are definitely pool view...

Oh ok, you had me worried for a minute. Yes those are DVC rooms, to my understanding. All of them on the 6th floor are. And the DVC CL rooms can have about any view there is. As far as I know all nonDVC CL rooms are on 4th floor. The website specifically says Arusha view, not even just Savannah view. I know the Disney site is often wrong but when it comes to being sure I get an Arusha view you can bet I'd be pulling it out as back up.

Jambo!

We normally stay at POR, but with the exclusion from FD this year, we booked at CSR instead-8 nights with tickets & FD. DH is a big fan of the FD promotion and FD works for us because it allows us to visit the kinds of restaurants that might not be in our budget otherwise. POR has been our favorite - even though it's so spread out I love the landscaping and the walks to me are so peaceful, and DH loves the boat ride to DTD. But it was not to be this time, so on to our second choice-CSR. Then came an email a couple of weeks ago on the TA site that allowed me to add the dining plan to a TA discounted room--well, now I had to take a look at that! Our flights worked out that I had to add an extra night on anyway, which I hadn't booked yet, so I figured let's see what I can find! So after playing around with the dates and different options, I was able to split our stay, 5 nights at CSR with tickets and FD and booked 4 nights at AKV in a savannah room for just a little more! :woohoo:

This will be our first time staying deluxe-so excited! We've eaten at Boma a couple of times and spent some time wandering around the resort, and I'm so happy to be able to stay there. :dance3:

We will be at CSR from Nov 15-20 and then moving to AKV-Jambo from Nov 20-24!

WoW:woohoo: You should get excited...2 of the best resorts on property..

If you loved POR, Im 99% sure yo're going to love CSR...
This place is amazing as well, with The absolute best bus service out of all resorts....CSR we like to consider as a Deluxe Lite....Theming , decor, amenities, pool, Pepper Market..Bus service, Spa.

AKL/V . Well This place is like no other...It's so serene & tranquil. You'll almost forget youre on a WDW trip..* Not really...Soo much to do & see here. So many activities too.

have a great Split Stay.:thumbsup2

We have never done this before on all our Disney trips so not sure how this works. We have a package for the first part of our stay and then a room only for the last three nights. Is it possible to ask to just stay in the same room? The package and room only are booked in the same resort category.

Hi there, sorry if this question has been asked already (I would normally go through the whole thread), but I was wondering if anyone could confirm the dates that Santa Stitch does his meet and greets at the resort? I read somewhere that he is usually out from Dec 19th, which would make me very sad as we are visiting WDW from Nov 30th to Dec 10th. Many thanks in advance :goodvibes

I don't have the answer to this... we only ever saw Chip and Dale there during the holidays. But they were present during your time frame. Hope that helps.

We've stayed at CSR once before and loved it....we were in a great location in Cabanas right by the quiet pool, and it was back when Pepper Market still had the breakfast buffet--DH still talks about how he misses that! I'm looking forward to going back, and of course to the second part, too! I think I have our days planned out so that we will be on a more laid-back pace the second half of the trip so we'll be able to enjoy the resort!

Getting so close now! 25 days til arrival! Have started soft packing, and placed my Garden Grocer order. Magic Bands arrived yesterday (on my birthday - totally sweet!). Got FP for BOGLunch this morning for day 1 of park touring!

What else to do????

So excited that we will be in the world THIS MONTH!!!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Greetings All!! :goodvibes Almost less then 3 months before our AKL adventure! Wooo! :woohoo:

Hoping you can help me in please! In the rooms I'm assuming there is a fan in the bathroom area correct? How loud is it?

I ask because at home I sleep with a fan on for the white noise, can't sleep with out. I've been planning on buying a white noise machine to bring with us but thought I should ask first if the fan might be loud enough? Or if it even makes a sound? Would be nice to save $30-50 if I can.

And no, no sleeping in ear plugs, its uncomfortable and only in the direst or snoriest situations. :rotfl:

May have been noted since this post, but many people order a box fan from Garden Grocer or similar for this very purpose.

New to this thread and tried to find if anyone posted this info but could not find anything. We stayed club level several years ago and I remember a nice continental breakfast and soft drinks through out the day. We spent much of our time at the parks so we missed mid-day and evening offerings. Do they also offer water bottles? Also, does anyone know what else is offered throughout the day and evening? Any info would be greatly appreciated:flower3: Thanks!

They have all that info in the Club Level thread. There are snacks, apps and then deserts. No bottled water, if you are talking about individual bottles you can take with you. For specifics on the menus offered see the Club Level thread (post 11 has AKL info)

Jambo!

DH and I have always stayed value (Pop) with the exception of our wedding where we stayed at Caribbean Beach and did not much care for how spaced out everything was - allow me to explain: We like to have a morning soft drink on the ride to the parks and an evening refill or two... big soda drinkers here (though I'm a Minnesotan so I call it 'pop' not 'soda' ;) )

Regardless, we have booked AKL pool view for our upcoming December trip as a special celebration of me obtaining my long overdue Master's degree (assuming I finish writing it before then :headache: ). I'm very thankful for the FAQs here and I think we made the right choice for our soda loving, but also animal loving personalities. Thank you all for the fantastic info!
