It's been a long time since we stayed at AKL - summer of '12 - and it's about time we came home!

Can anyone tell me about the pool situation at Jambo? We've stayed at Poly and POR since then, and both had main pools closed at a certain hour, but quiet pools open 24 hours. What's the policy at Jambo, where there's no quiet pools?

We used to love those late night dips after closing down the parks. I'm guessing that's just a memory now?

...Boma has something for even the most finicky of eaters...there are different stations, including one that has the ol' standbys - spaghetti and meatballs, mac'n'cheese, burgers, chicken fingers, and the like...

....seems like a no-brainer to me......but I AM kinda partial to AKL....

We were originally going to stay at the Poly. Then I read about all the refurbishments. So I booked up at WL... 28 days later, rumor was going around about the main pool being worked on and closes after Labor Day. I fought with the idea for 2 weeks, and when I saw the actual work permit for the main pool area, I called yesterday and moved us to AKL, where we stayed 2 years ago. Should have just booked here to start. We love AK.

We spent 14 days at AKL in 2012, and you are right, I loved it! I have no idea why I planned on going somewhere else. Lol

We actually switched our reservation from GF CL to AKL Arusha view bunk bed room (there was no CL left )!!!!

We have always wanted to stay at AKL but have put it off for some reason or another, but back on Mother's Day, we found out that we are expecting again (very unexpectedly, lol) so we decided to do AKL as our last trip as a family of four, and before we can't stay there anymore because we will be a family of five!

We are so excited!!! 10 nights in August -- 8/16/14 - 8/26/14

Mind sharing your room location? I'm still torn on if I want to request Kudu or Zebra trail.

It was room 2227. Jambo House. I don't know the resort well enough to know which trail it was on.

We just switched to a split stay! First half of trip Aug 26th to 30th at POR, and the second half Aug 30th to Sept 3rd at Jambo house in a 1bdrm savannah view!

I'm so excited!

Last trip, we were pixie dusted and upgraded to arusha view and now we're totally spoiled!

Can anyone confirm if the Jambo house pool closes overnight.Trying to plan a September trip and hoping that if it does close, it would be late, like 11pm.

It does but I can't remember what time. I believe the lifeguards go off duty at 8 pm. So maybe 10 pm .

I seem to recall several people saying they were good. If they're anything like the lodge tour at the WL, they're worth it.
