We are planning our first trip to AKL Jan 30th through Feb 7th. Can't book until 7 month window so I am counting the days till it is confirmed!

This will be our 4th trip to WDW and the 1st for our DD who is 5. We want to do at least 1 full day at the resort. If you plan a resort day when going to WDW where do you like to put it in you itinerary? Beginning? middle? End? What are your thoughts?

I'm going to duck first, but don't worry if you do t like Zebra Domes. I can't stand them! I do love that the gift shop has a decent selection of SA wines. I also highly endorse Victoria Falls.
The Movies are behind the pool, near the flamingos.

I have two trips to add-- 6/25-29, off property (I'm pricing AKL, is that wrong?)
And Nov 6-10, Poly CL, wine and dine half marathon.

Thanks for the tip! I will definitely keep that in mind, it's good to know that option is available.

I am OFFICIALLY booked! July 3-5. I am very excited as I have always wanted to stay here. I do have a question. I see a lot of posts about which room requests to choose. How do you request things? I didn't have an option when I booked to request anything but being near anyone else I knew or a crib. Thanks!

I usually put it in the middle -ish. So id I was doing a 7 day trip, day 4 or 5.

Or whatever day I'm tired and cranky!!

For us usually it's somewhere in the middle, to separate the multiple times heading to the same parks. Plus it just seems to rejuvenate you for the back end of the trip too.

Be prepared though, once you have your resort only day, you'll want to do it again....AKL/V has a funny way of making you forget about the parks.

Loving this thread Taking notes and getting lots of tips from this one..thanks everyone!

We've been living in Australia for the past 3 years and are back in the US now and planning our first trip to the world since 2009......and though we took many awesome trips during our time in Australia I am really looking forward to going back to Disney and checking out Universal ( DD is a huge HP fan!!)

We'll be doing a split stay between Universal and Disney and we're very excited!!!

June 7th - 10th at Hard Rock then June 10 - 15th at AKL. This will be our first stay at AKL...can't wait.

We will start our disney portion with a nice relaxing dinner at Jiko then end it with Harambe Nights at AK on that Saturday

Even though it has been 5 years since we've been , we have plans all set for each park of must do's and we are really hoping to take it slow and just enjoy the resort ...can't wait

I have gone with little ones and I would say to place the resort day in the middle of the trip. As a prev poster stated, It rejuvenates you and more importantly-your little one. Disney is major sensory overload on little ones and having a "normal style" break in the middle is like pressing the "reset" button. Relaxing by the pool and swimming will calm things a bit.
